Objectives: Scientometric assessment of the performance of scholarly communications of Mizoram University in world scenario.

Methods: The ten years of scholarly communications have been retrieved from Web of Science for Mizoram University. The study analyses the scholarly communications, citations data, h-index, prolific contributors, forms of scholarly communications, funding agencies, highly cited scholarly communications, top areas of scholarly communications, authorship patterns and degree of collaboration.

Results: Physics and Chemistry subjects found the highest productive area of scholarly communications, multiple authorship is prevalent with high degree of collaboration among authors, Department of Science and Technology (DST) as the topmost …

Scientometrics is an important field of information science as it represents a unique set of techniques and tools for the monitoring and analysis of information resources and for the management of knowledge in social and organizational contexts. This article analysed the various Scientometric components of the articles published by top six universities of Tamil Nadu from 2000-2017. The study identifies research trend, characteristics growth and collaboration pattern of published literature. The main objective of this article is to find out most prolific authors and journals in the environmental management research output during 1989 to 2014. This area is an interdisciplinary subject and developed dramatically over the last few decades. Scientometrics offers assess the quantitative analytical techniques with the development and growth of research in Environmental management. The total sample data retrieved from the database of Web of Knowledge, includes, SCI, SSCI, A&HCI. Total records of 61877 research articles retrieved from 22 types of different sources. Applicability of Bradford’s law and Lotka’s law methods was tested.

Presents a bibliometric analysis of the literature in the field of Dengue as indexed the MEDLINE data which covered in the Pubmed for the period 2008 to 2017. It is noticed that total of 11826 records on literature of Dengue are covered for a period of ten years from 2008 to 2017. It is also noticed that the maximum number of records (1810) was published during year 2016, followed by 1540 in 2017 and 1520 in 2015. This paper seeks to analyze the experience of male-to-female transgender inmates housed in men’s prisons and to propose housing and healthcare policies with humanity and safety for all in mind. To do this, the paper examines gender dysphoria and its treatments, transgender prisoners’ increased risk of victimization, current housing placement policies, and lastly, transgender prison healthcare practices. Ultimately, this paper proposes the use of fair and adequately trained panel-based placement teams, the provision of comprehensive mental and physical health care and the establishment of impartial grievance procedures.

During neural circuit formation, most axons are guided to complex environments, coming into contact with multiple potential synaptic partners. However, it is critical that they recognize specific neurons with which to form synapses. Here, we utilize the split GFP-based marker Neuroligin-1 GFP Reconstitution Across Synaptic Partners (NLG-1 GRASP) to visualize specific synapses in live animals, and a circuit-specific behavioral assay to probe circuit function. We demonstrate that the receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase (RPTP) clr-1 is necessary for synaptic partner recognition (SPR) between the PHB sensory neurons and the AVA interneurons in C. elegans. Peripheral inflammation alters the excitability of dorsal horn interneurons and increases flexor reflex strength (Dubner & Ruda, 1992); however, its effect on the spinal stretch reflex is not well understood. The stretch reflex is a muscle contraction in response to muscle stretch. We hypothesize that the acute inflammation caused by an injection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) will cause an increase in spinal cord excitability. To test this hypothesis, we measured Hoffman’s (H) reflex, the electric analog of the stretch reflex in adult mice receiving an injection of LPS (.5mg/kg) or saline (200μl). San Jose State University Library, along with all California State University (CSU) libraries, recently migrated to ExLibris’ Alma and Primo, going live with our unified CSU library system in 2017. One of our most anticipated Alma features is the ability to export invoices from Alma into the campus PeopleSoft financial systems (ERPs). A team of systems and acquisitions staff from several campuses developed an integration plan that could be adapted for use by all our CSU libraries. Several libraries have now successfully implemented this process, improving their invoice workflow efficiency.

Populations with obesity are more likely to fall and exhibit balance instability. The reason for this is likely multifactorial, but there is some evidence that sensory function is impaired during obesity. We tested the hypothesis that muscle proprioceptor function is compromised in a mouse model of diet induced obesity. An in vitro muscle-nerve preparation was used to record muscle spindle afferent responses to physiological stretch and sinusoidal vibration. Specialization can make animals vulnerable to rapid environmental changes. For long-lived seabirds, foraging specialization may make individuals especially sensitive, as climatic changes are currently occurring over the course of one lifetime. The Bering Sea is a dynamic subarctic and arctic ecosystem where windblown sea ice mediates annual productivity and subsequent pathways to upper trophic levels. Red-legged kittiwakes Rissa brevirostris are endemic surface foraging seabirds specializing on myctophid fishes during reproduction. Their degree of specialization outside the breeding season is less understood. Mortality from incidental bycatch in longline fishery operations is a global threat to seabird populations, and especially so for the albatross family (Diomedeidae) in which 15 out of 22 species are threatened with extinction. Despite the risks, fisheries remain attractive to many species of seabird by providing access to high-energy foods in the form of discarded fish and offal, target fish, and baited hooks. Authorship Patterns And Collaborative Research In Astrobiology, 2012-2017, Kotti Thavamani

This paper presents a bibliometric study of Astrobiology during the period of 2012-2017. A total of 519 articles and 3048 authors in the journal were examined by year to ascertain authorship patterns, author productivity, and degree of collaboration. The average number of authors per paper is 5.872 % and the average productivity per author is 0.170%. The average degree of collaboration is 0.861, which clearly indicates its dominance upon multi authored contributions.

Wearable technology allows users to monitor their activity and pursue a healthy lifestyle through the use of embedded sensors. Such wearables usually connect to a mobile application that allows them to set their profile and keep track of their goals. There has been an increase in Chinese women who specifically come to the United States (US) to give birth to their child and return back to their native country after being cleared at the postpartum checkup.
