Gender minority individuals experience elevated rates of body dissatisfaction and disordered eating in comparison to cisgender individuals; however, research assessing why this health disparity exists is limited. To address this gap, the present study investigated gender minority stress and resilience factors as proposed in the gender minority stress and resilience model (GMSR), sociocultural influence factors as proposed in the tripartite influence model of body dissatisfaction and disordered eating (TI), and an integration of these two theoretical frameworks in efforts to better explain disordered eating etiology for gender minority individuals. With the prevalence of catastrophic wildfires increasing as a response to a century of widespread fire suppression, shifts in weather patterns, and other external factors, land managers throughout the United States have sought methods to increase the resiliency of landscapes to fire. With a host of adaptations to periodic disturbance, S. sempervirens has a competitive advantage over other species when fire is present. We describe our implementation of AIs for the Chinese game Dou Di Zhu. Dou Di Zhu is a three-player game played with a standard 52 card deck together with two jokers. One player acts as a landlord and has the advantage of receiving three extra cards, the other two players play as peasants. We designed and implemented a Deep Q-learning Neural Network (DQN) agent to play the Dou Di Zhu. Reinforcement Learning (RL) is a machine learning technique where an agent learns to perform a complex action by going through a repeated process of trial and error to maximize a well-defined reward function. This form of learning has found applications in robot locomotion where it has been used to teach robots to traverse complex terrain. While RL algorithms may work well in training robot locomotion, they tend to not generalize well when the agent is brought into an environment that it has never encountered before. This study was undertaken to describe the role played by Indigenous Knowledge (IK) (Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Traditional Knowledge (TK)) of the local community farmers in Lindi and Mtwara regions and determine their overall perceptions on usefulness of IK in the pursuit of their farming activities. The study employed a mixed method approach (case study and cross sectional survey). It involved 230 respondents comprising 96 (41.7%) female and 134 (58.3%) males. A total of 90 farmers were interviewed by using self-administered questionnaire. Refined calibrations of CRISM images are enabling identification of smaller deposits of unique aqueous materials on Mars that reveal changing environmental conditions at the region surrounding Mawrth Vallis. Through characterization of these clay-sulfate assemblages and their association with the layered, phyllosilicate units of this region, more details of the aqueous geochemical history can be gleaned. Freshwater discharge from glaciers is increasing across the Arctic in response to anthropogenic climate change, which raises questions about the potential downstream effects in the marine environment. Sleep inertia, the transitional state of reduced alertness and impaired cognitive performance upon waking, is a safety risk for on-call personnel who can be required to perform critical tasks soon after waking. Sleep inertia countermeasures have previously been investigated; however, none have successfully dissipated sleep inertia within the first 15 min following waking. During this time, on-call personnel could already be driving, providing advice, or performing other safety-critical tasks.
