On The Design Of Adiabatic Srams, Yibin Ye, Dinesh Somasekhar, Kaushik Roy
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technical Reports
In the design of low-power circuits, adiabatic logic shows great promise. However, research till date have concentrated on adiabatic logic circuits/families. Today's VLSlsystems integrate random logic, megamodules and memories. Hence, the success of adiabatic circuits will depend on the efficient implementation of not only random logic, but also the other components of a VLSI system. In this paper, we present a design of adiabatic Static RAM, which can be implemerited withorit greatly increasing area or circuit complexity. The design addresses the issue of building ultra-low power memory circuits in a VLSI system. Our results for a 41

The Analysis, Simulation, And Implementation Of Control Strategies For A Pulsewidth Modulated Induction Motor Drive, Scott D. Roller, Chee Mun Ong
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technical Reports
The purpose of this research is to analyze, simulate, and compare two different control strategies for a variable speed pulsewidth modulated induction motor drive, and implement one of the control strategies using the Motorola MC68F333 inicrocontroller. The two strategies examined in this technical report are volts per hertz control and field oriented control. The benefits and limitations of each strategy are examined through theoretical analysis. Verification of the analysis is performed by simulating thc strategies usmg the Simulink toolbox of Matlab. The Motorola microcontroller is then used to generate both edge-aligned and center-aligned pulsewidth modulated drive signals for a three …
Computational Separation Of Bulk And Surface Recombination Using Contactless Photoconductive Decay, Frederick P. Giles, Richard J. Schwartz
Computational Separation Of Bulk And Surface Recombination Using Contactless Photoconductive Decay, Frederick P. Giles, Richard J. Schwartz
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technical Reports
A novel, computational approach to distinguishing between bulk and surface recombination in crystalline silicon is presented. The Photoconductive Decay technique, applied with a probe of sufficiently long wavelength, senses no informiation about carrier diffusion or distributions in samples, thus isolating carrier recombination as the sole cause of its decay signal. If the recombination and transport parameters of' a sample remain cor~standt uring the decay, the information content and collective properties of the decay paIameters allow them to be solved simultaneously to produce unique values for the bulk lifetime and surface recombination velocities of the measurement sample. The method is rapid …
High Dimensional Feature Reduction Via Projection Pursuit, Luis O. Jimenez, David Landgrebe
High Dimensional Feature Reduction Via Projection Pursuit, Luis O. Jimenez, David Landgrebe
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technical Reports
The irecent development of more sophisticated sensors for remote sensing systems enables the measurement of radiation in many more spectral intervals than previous possible. An example of this technology is the AVlRlS system., which collects image data in 220 bands. The increased dimensionality of such hyperspectral data provides a challenge to the current techniques for analyzing such data. Our experience in three dimensional space tends to rr~isleado ur intuition of geometrical and statistical properties in high dimensional space, properties that must guide our choices in the data analysis process. Using Euclidean and Cartesian geometry, high dimensional space properties are investigated …

Airline Quality Rating 1996, Brent D. Bowen, Dean E. Headley
Airline Quality Rating Report
The Airline Quality Rating (AQR) was developed and first announced in early 1991 as an objective method of comparing airline performance on combined multiple factors important to consumers. Development history and calculation details for the AQR rating system are detailed in The Airline Quality Rating issued in April, 1991, by the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State University. This current report, Airline Quality Rating 1996, contains monthly Airline Quality Rating scores for 1995. Additional copies are available by contacting Wichita State University or the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
The Airline Quality Rating 1996, contains a brief summary …
