Investigation Of The Prevalence Of Receded Near Point Of Convergence In School-Aged Children With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Lorig Sildiryan
Student Theses, Dissertations and Capstones
PURPOSE: The intention of this study was to determine if there was an association between receded near point ofconvergence (NPC) and diagnosis of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in school-agedchildren as compared to neuro-normal children. Differences in accommodative amplitude were investigated as well.
METHODS: This retrospective study was done by analyzing the data from examination records of fifty school-agedchildren between the ages of seven and seventeen. Twenty-five children in the experimental group withADHD were age and gender matched to twenty-five neuro-normal children in the control group. The average of each patient’s NPC break and accommodative amplitude values were used to conduct a …

Psychometric Analyses Of A Comprehensive Neuropsychological Battery For Retired Nfl Players, Kimberly Ethridge Fitzgibbon
Theses and Dissertations
This study examined psychometric properties of the NFL Concussion Battery used to examine neuropsychological functioning in retired NFL players who were part of the NFL’s concussion settlement. This battery assesses multiple areas of cognitive functioning; executive functioning, language, processing speed, attention and memory. The study included 117 participants who were male with at least 16 years of education. The sample was 75.9% African-American and average age was 47. All participants completed the entire battery and passed the majority of effort measures. Those that did not pass the majority of effort measures or complete the entire battery were excluded.

Does The Type Of Dual Cognitive Task Impact Gait Variability Using The Quantitative Timed Up And Go (Qtug) In Community-Dwelling Adults?, Laurie G. Hiatt
Department of Physical Therapy Student Theses, Dissertations and Capstones
Background and Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine how different cognitive dual-tasks impact gaitvariability in community-dwelling adults using the Quantitative Timed Up and Go (QTUG).
Methods: Participants aged 65 and older were recruited from two communities in Iowa and Wisconsin. Inclusion criteria: theability to stand and ambulate without an assistive device, having no orthopedic surgical procedures in the previous six weeks, living independently in the community, demonstrating corrected vision and ability to read, sufficient auditory function to carry on a conversation and ability to follow directions. Participants needed to follow three step commands and have no history …

Exploring The Development Of Pre-Service Teachers' Knowledge And Attitudes Toward Integrating Computational Thinking And Robotics Into The Classroom, Jillian Powers, Ann Musgrove, Victoria Brown, Mohammad Azhar
FDLA Journal
This paper presents an introductory computational thinking (CT) module that can be implemented into teacher education curricula. The researchers examined how the integration of CT and robotics instruction into an undergraduate instructional technology course influenced pre-service teachers' understanding of CT and robotics and their attitudes towards adopting these tools in their future classrooms. The online module was developed as a result of a collaboration between computer science and education faculty from two universities. A total of 93 students participated in the study. The course was delivered during the spring, summer, and fall semesters of 2020 via distance learning at a …
