An Investigation Of Some Characteristics Of Explosive Ammonium Nitrate-Reducing Fuel Mixtures, Klaus M. Kohler Jan 1959

An Investigation Of Some Characteristics Of Explosive Ammonium Nitrate-Reducing Fuel Mixtures, Klaus M. Kohler

Masters Theses

"It was the purpose of the investigation described herein to find the answers to some of the questions which arise with the use of an ammonium nitrate--non nitroglycerine--mixture as an explosive, such as

a) the effect of the percentage of fuel oil in the mixture

b) the effect of the loading density of the mixture

c) the effect of the diameter of the charge

d) the effect of the particle size of the ammonium nitrate

e) the effect of different reducing fuels

f) the effect of different primers"--Introduction, pages 5-6.

A Study Of The Genesis Of The Krueger Zinc Deposit And The Near-By Barite Deposits Of The Potosi Quadrangle, Washington County, Missouri, Attilio Ligasacchi Jan 1959

A Study Of The Genesis Of The Krueger Zinc Deposit And The Near-By Barite Deposits Of The Potosi Quadrangle, Washington County, Missouri, Attilio Ligasacchi

Masters Theses

This thesis deals with the study of the genesis of the Krueger zinc deposit and the near-by barite deposits of the Potosi quadrangle, Washington County, Missouri.

The rocks outcropping in the quadrangle embrace Pre-Cambrian and Lower Paleozoic formations, the Potosi and Eminence being the most important formations with regard to the studied deposits.

The few structures present in the area of the vertical type and are more abundant in the southern part of the quadrangle.

Special emphasis is placed on the relationships between the barite, the associated sulfides, and the host rock.

Geometric and geochemical criteria are studied in detail …

An Experimental Investigation Of A Small Volume Sandwich Antenna In The 400 Megacycle Frequency Range, James Gilbert Smith Jan 1959

An Experimental Investigation Of A Small Volume Sandwich Antenna In The 400 Megacycle Frequency Range, James Gilbert Smith

Masters Theses

"Scope of the Investigation: The small volume sandwich antenna was patterned after that of F. D. Clapp's which appears in an unpublished report written for the United States Navy. Clapp's antenna is shown in Figure 2. The antenna described in this report was investigated at approximately one-thousandth of the volume of the original Clapp antenna. Clapp's antenna was designed for the 225-400 megacycle range; while the author's model was designed for operation at 400 megacycles.

The objective of this investigation was to build a small volume sandwich antenna which could be adapted to satisfy the characteristics listed on page 1. …

A Comparison Of The Effect Of Pvt Data Application Methods On Predicted Depletion Drive Reservoir Performance, Frederick A. Klein Jan 1959

A Comparison Of The Effect Of Pvt Data Application Methods On Predicted Depletion Drive Reservoir Performance, Frederick A. Klein

Masters Theses

"It is generally agreed that the evolution of gas from oil within a reservoir is most closely approximated by the differential liberation process, while gas liberation in the flow string, surface separator, and stock tank is most nearly represented by flash liberation. To conform with this assumed physical behavior, appropriate application of both flash and differential liberation data in the computation of reservoir performance by material balance methods is indicated.

In this work, simple depletion-drive oil and gas recoveries were calculated (1) using differential liberation data only, and (2) using differential liberation data adjusted to incorporate the results of flash …

Geology Of The Copper Deposits In The Eminence Region, Shannon County, Missouri, Lanny Lee Evans Jan 1959

Geology Of The Copper Deposits In The Eminence Region, Shannon County, Missouri, Lanny Lee Evans

Masters Theses

"Copper has been known to occur in Shannon County, Missouri since the early 1830's. A number of small deposits in an area around Eminence has been worked intermittently up to the present day. Little detailed geologic information is available on these deposits. The geology of the Eminence region consists of Precambrian rhyolite porphyry knobs projecting through dolomites and sandstones of Upper Cambrian and Ordovician age. A conglomerate of limited horizontal extent overlying the Precambrian is found at certain localities within the region. The only structures noted are the structural highs formed where the Paleozoic sediments lap upon the knobs. The …
