In this short story, Matilda A. Boyd (Matilda Ann "Lit" Boyd Webb) describes a visit she and her friends made to a woman's home, who's name she only described as Mrs. A. She describes the beauty of the house and grounds of their hostess, their activities during the visit such as food they ate, the hostess piano playing, and an outing to tour a factory in the area, and their trip home. The blue paper is stained and torn in several places.

This receipt, dated February 28, 1849, documents the payment of five dollars and ninety-nine cents made by Elizabeth Darden to Jefferson County, Mississippi for State, County, and School Tax for the year 1848. The receipt is signed by Sam Laughman, Sherriff and Tax Collector. The receipt is numbered 376 in the upper left corner and has some tearing in the top center. There are visible wrinkles throughout the receipt.

The blue paper is damaged along the edges and creased.
