A sepia toned photograph identified in pencil as a monument erected for Albert Sidney Johnstone is actually the Memorial to the Confederate Army of Tennesee at Metaire Cemetery, New Orleans, Louisiana. The memorial contains crypts in a vaulted Gothic chapel surrounded by a grass-covered mound or tumulus. A bronze statue of Albert Sydeny Johnston, a Confederate General, is on top of the tumulus, depicting Johnston as seated atop his horse holding binoculars.This is a view of the memorial and statue as seen from the back.
