J. W. Lake writes in a series of letters to Stone regarding his son. In the first he sends a recommendation for admission to the college. In the second he ask that his son would be allowed to come home for Christmas holidays and in the third he asks that his son not be vaccinated against small pox since he was just vaccinated four years and due to the outbreak in Starkville he wants to be sure that he is not vaccinated again.

This deed, dated September 6, 1899, describes the sale and conveyance of lots in Kosciusko, Mississippi to Emmett L. Ray from W. L. and M. A. Neal at a cost of one thousand four hundred dollars. The testimony of the Attala County Justice of the Peace is included. A series of stamps with dates are lined up on the left edge of the deed.

This handwritten letter, dated August 30, 1899, is written from Carl Schurz to Beaorre. The eight page letter explains that Schurz missed a dinner engagment with Beaorre because he had been seriously ill and requests Beorre to not seek revenge for his failings. The letter goes on to explain the lengths Schurz had gone to to seek out Beorre since recovering from said illness. The letter concludes with a book recommendation and speaks of the biography Beaorre is working on.
