A Study Of The Growth And Development Of The Sumrall Special Consolidated School District, Roscoe Odas Stringer

This thesis presents a study of the Sumrall Special Consolidated School Distriot, taking into consideration: (1) the social, economic, and educational conditions of the district prior to consolidation; (2) growth and changes during the period of consolidation; and (3) the social, economic, and educational conditions of the district after consolidation. Chronologically, the study sets forth the social and industrial evolution of the district, the educational evolution of the district, the conclusions reached, and recommendations for further educational development in the district. The author has produced evidence to show that the establishment of a special consolidated high school at Sumrall, Mississippi, …

This is a study of the symbols in the work of five modem English left-wing writers.
Chapter I shows that the number of recurring images in the work of these authors, points to a submerged myth, or formal system of symbols. This has been partially recognized by a few critics but never fully examined. The symbols themselves, because of their newness and because they stand for values many of which are new to bourgeois thought, have earned for the work of these writers a reputation of being both strange and abstruse. Dr. H. L. Smith in a paper which has not been published as yet 3hows that by starting with a general function satisfying Caratheoacry's first two postulates on an outer measure function, it is possible to construct a function which satisfies all four postulates. In this dissertation we have stuuied some of the characteristics o of this.function, principally those which are of use in deriving our‘theorems on density. Diophantlne analysis, while an old subject, is a collection of special problems. The methods used are very varied and those used to solve one problem will not usually solve a second one. It is possible that this condition exists because Diophantlne analysis is usually considered as number theory. While some problems are problems in number theory, a large body of material may be developed by algebraic methods. In this thesis the methods of algebra are exploited.
