The purpose of the study was to address the issue of low attendance in Emmanuel Church among young adults. This topic is based on the investigator's awareness that individuals who grow up in Emmanuel discontinue attendance between the ages of eighteen to twenty-nine years. The literature review revealed that many churches commonly experience this problem. Emmanuel Church is primarily made up of Jamaicans and their descendants, and no literature addressed the immediate context of Emmanuel Church. This qualitative case study examined the rising cost of hospital pharmaceutical shortages and the impact on patient care. This study also explored the use of predictive analytics to reduce costs and improve patient care efficiency. Increased health-care spending is partially due to prescription medication prices. Management of hospital drug procurement affects patient health, quality care, and hospital budgets, while risk management needs to minimize possible medication shortages. Opioid misuse relating to prescription pain killers have claimed the lives of many Americans, posing an escalating nationwide public health crisis. Prescription opioid overdose and death can impair an individual’s functionality, destabilizes family, and impose a significant financial burden. In 2014, the U.S. had an estimated 36 million people ages 12 years and older who had used prescription opioids for non-medical reasons. In that same year, there were “28,647” (61%) of 47,055 prescription and non-prescription opioid overdose deaths, indicating an increase from previous years (Center for Disease Control (CDC, 2020). Background and Purpose: Reduction of live hospice discharges in the form of revocations is necessitated in order to maintain regulatory compliance and meet quality measures. Upon admission to hospice services, many have not considered personal desire regarding further intervention beyond Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) status. This systematic review is an update and expansion to the population and methods of a previous systematic review concerning spiritual and religious interventions for the well-being of terminally ill adults. After expanding the criteria to incorporate a more diverse population and including non-randomized experimental studies that contained relatively few concerns of bias, the results of the review are inconclusive due to insufficient data. The Veterans Administration (VA) and Department of Defense (DOD) evaluated the expanding roles of chaplains in mental health and identified the prevalent need for additional training among chaplains when integrating chaplaincy and mental health services. Literature revealed that chaplains were lacking in the skillsets and pastoral care practices needed to effectively care for elderly patients with mental health disorders. Emergency department (ED) overcrowding is an internationally studied phenomenon linked to adverse patient outcomes, including death. Early medical screening exams (MSE) may prevent morbidity and mortality. Yet, EDs struggle to evaluate, treat, and discharge patients within recommended and nationally monitored benchmark times. This evidence-based scholarly project explored if stationing an advanced practice provider (APP) in triage would improve door-provider-times, length-of-stay (LOS), and the left without being seen (LWBS) rate at a medical center ED in the southeastern United States. Endotracheal intubation results in many serious complications including regurgitation, vocal cord paralysis, and death. Noninvasive ventilation using bi-level positive airway pressure has been shown to provide the necessary support without intubation and is also associated with better outcomes if trialed prior to endotracheal intubation. A noninvasive ventilation protocol was applied in a rural acute care facility. Results: The average length of stay for acute respiratory failure decreased from 5.32 to 4.44 days, while intubations fell from 41.9% to zero, and mortality fell from 9.7% to zero during the pilot period. Five cases met criteria for noninvasive ventilation, and three received …

This thesis centers on the intersections between critical pedagogy and writing instruction in a prison college program with the aim of humanization. A theoretical framework is constructed that relies on the pillars of tenets from Liberation theology, critical pedagogy, an anti-racist and multicultural praxis, and generative culture-making. This quantitative non-experimental correlational study involved the investigation of the relationships between job satisfaction, gender, marital status, and parental status among educational leaders who identify as being Christian. A multiple regression analysis was utilized to determine how accurately job satisfaction, as measured by the Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS), can be predicted from a linear combination of gender, marital status, and parental status for Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth-grade school administrators identifying as Christian. Despite being a GOLD guideline and having documented benefits, confirming a COPD diagnosis with spirometry is not routinely done. The purpose of this project was to increase patient referrals for spirometry to confirm COPD diagnosis. A quasi-experimental design was incorporated in a primary care office. A retrospective pre-intervention chart audit and two post-chart audits, 30-days apart, compared the frequency of documented spirometry to confirm a COPD diagnosis. An educational intervention with a pre and post-survey examined provider behavior intention to order spirometry to confirm a COPD diagnosis. The pre-chart audit revealed that 27/50 (54%) of patients had spirometry documented to …
