This paper addresses the issue of Christian Unity as expressed in John 17. It shows, through evaluation of the text itself that: (1) Unity is based on love for and obedience to, Jesus Christ; (2) the Father and the Son. Together, send the Spirit of Truth to dwell in all believers; (3) all believers are loved by the Father just as He loves Jesus. A proper relationship with the Father and Jesus places all believers in Unity with each other as one family of God which is comprised of many brothers who are also friends. Unity is Visible

Where has the leap of faith concept come from? What has it fostered? Does it provide an adequate foundation for the Christian faith? This article will critique the development of the leap of faith through Lessing, Kant and Kierkegaard. It will then evaluate the theological and philosophical positions that have grown from it and its present status in light of the Scriptures.

The social, economic, political, and other contexts of texts as well as of interpreters have an important bearing upon the "meaning" of such texts. Any interpreter should be conscious of this fact and inculcate it into his pronouncements on the "meaning" of a text.

In 1972 the Education Act of South Australia was revised so as to make compulsory the teaching of religion in public schools. The major church leaders in South Australia held pro-Christian views about the form the new religious education should assume. Certain factors, most obviously a vigorous humanist campaign conducted during 1974 and 1975, wrought a dramatically different religious education syllabus. Convinced that the Christian religion was not being accorded its proper place, the church leaders finally lodged a united complaint with the Education Department of South Australia in 1979.
