The Shaffer Thesis Arthur Harvey Shaffer: American Founding History And History Education, C. C. Mathis
The Shaffer Thesis Arthur Harvey Shaffer: American Founding History And History Education, C. C. Mathis
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Historian Arthur Harvey Shaffer (1936-2002) argued that the post-Revolution historians created a New England-centric nationalist history perspective of the American founding. He further argued they established a model of nationalist American history education to instill a virtuous national character and ensure the stability of the new republic. Though current trends show an increasing number of scholars reassessing New England primacy in American colonial and revolutionary era histories, Shaffer’s historical perspective and pedagogy appears overlooked. Shaffer’s historical perspective and pedagogy can be integrated into a unique historical lens for insight into the link between American history scholarship, history education, and national …

Identifying The Impact Of Specific Parenting Routines On Self-Reported Parenting Satisfaction, Chris Kretschman
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Parents face many challenges when raising a child, and how a parent handles these situations and their outcomes influence that parent’s perception of their success. This current research determined that there were not specific routines a parent engages in when interacting one-on-one with their child each day which positively correlate with reported parental satisfaction (Ha1). However, there are specific routines that a parent engages in when a family participates in activities together as a family unit that have a positive correlation with reported parental satisfaction (Ha2). A quantitative descriptive, variable-centered correlation design was utilized to understand the linear relationship between …

The medication-assisted treatment approach has proven to be effective, but a significant number of individuals suffering from OUD do not seek treatment or are unable to stay in treatment due to several factors. Contingency Management (CM) is an intervention that has proven to be a promising strategy for patients suffering from OUD. The sole aim of this scholarly project was to determine the effectiveness of CM through a literature review of relevant articles and implement the result into …

The Predictive Relationship Between Student Food-Insecurity And Basic Psychological Needs Within College Students, Andrew Joel Tlucek

The American policing model, which evolved from slave patrols to public entities, continued as an apparatus in the marginalization and disenfranchisement of African Americans. The narrative of “defunding the police” suggests that the past’s cultural proximity renders the …
