Anchored In The Shifting Tides: An Interpretive Phenomenological Study Of Paramedic Resilience And Worldviews, David Eric Wolff

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

The purpose of this hermeneutic phenomenological study was to explore the experiences of paramedics in Western society, who self-report sustaining positive psychological well-being despite their emotionally and psychologically demanding work, examining the interplay of their narrative identity, spirituality, worldviews, and social connections. The stories paramedics construct about their realities can reveal the underlying meanings and how their role has molded who they are, best viewed through a threefold constructivist theoretical framework: narrative identity theory to understand how paramedics make sense of their experiences, transformational learning theory to identify how paramedics adjust their worldviews to while coping, and posttraumatic growth theory …

An Investigation Of The Government’S Legal Strategy After Loper Bright, Will Yeatman, Charles Yates May 2026

An Investigation Of The Government’S Legal Strategy After Loper Bright, Will Yeatman, Charles Yates

Liberty University Law Review

For forty years, the Chevron “two-step” dominated judicial review of statutory interpretation issues in the administrative law context. Then, in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, the Supreme Court ended Chevron deference. This Article investigates what comes next. Specifically, we explore how government lawyers have strategized in the wake of Loper Bright. Based on an original dataset of government briefs, we find that the government is advancing at least six substitutes for Chevron deference. Typically, the government combined two or more of these substitutes into an aggregated claim for Chevron-like deference. Our preliminary data suggests that courts have …

Legal Conservatism And The Rise And Fall Of Chevron, Ryan Bangert May 2026

Legal Conservatism And The Rise And Fall Of Chevron, Ryan Bangert

Liberty University Law Review

Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo marks a watershed moment in administrative law and conservative legal thought by formally overruling Chevron U.S.A. Inc. v. Natural Resources Defense Council and restoring judicial responsibility for resolving questions of statutory interpretation. This Article situates Loper Bright within the longer intellectual history of the modern conservative legal movement, arguing that Chevron deference emerged and was popularized, at least in part, as a conservative response to the perceived excesses of judicial activism during the Warren and Burger Court eras. While Chevron was initially embraced as a doctrine of judicial restraint that respected democratic accountability, it ultimately …

The Changing Landscape Of Artist Success: Evaluating Independent And Label-Signed Career Paths, With A Focus On The Christian Music Industry, Nicholas Ty Brueggemann May 2026

The Changing Landscape Of Artist Success: Evaluating Independent And Label-Signed Career Paths, With A Focus On The Christian Music Industry, Nicholas Ty Brueggemann

Senior Honors Theses

Traditionally, record labels have propelled the music industry (Christian and secular). They established themselves in the late 19th century, allowing artists to accumulate acclaim more efficiently. Since their inception, labels have connected artists to a support network that delegates career-related tasks. Getting signed to a label has historically been the industry standard career path for artists wanting to become successful enough to live off making music full-time. However, with the recent emergence of the digital landscape, more promotional methods, opportunities, and tools have become available to artists. Through this study, insights will be gained into the necessity of signing with …
