The objective of this research was to examine the relationship between leadership practice and organizational commitment in employees in faith-based organizations. The research utilized Bass and Avolio's Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) Leader Form and Meyer and Allen’s Three-Component Model (TCM) Employee Commitment Survey. The purpose of the research was to determine whether there was a relationship between leadership style and organizational commitment. Attributed idealized influence (IIA), behavioral idealized influence (IIB), inspirational motivation (IM), and contingent reward (CR) predicted affective commitment. Increasing global competition has led many business leaders to implement Lean methodologies to drive operational improvement and deliver increased customer satisfaction. However, not all business leaders have been successful in sustaining Lean implementation with the majority failing within the first three years. The purpose of this qualitative bounded, multi-site case study was to explore the effect that confidence has on the behavior of the principal and superintendent as the school's educational leader. The participants of this study were principals and superintendents of eight K-12 institutions in Northern Colorado. While the data addressing this multi-level epistemological observation are revealed through the narrative process, the framework for observing and codifying the research was derived from a qualitative multi-site case methodology where participants engaged in interviews and surveys, and whereby the researcher synthesized three research fields into one. Leadership In Faith-Based Nonprofits As Compared To A Covenantal Framework Of Action: An Exploratory Study To Develop An Alternative Theoretical Framework For Assessing Organizational Processes And Influences, Kahlib J. Fischer

The purpose of this paper is to better understand leadership in faith-based nonprofits (FNPs) through interviews of managers and executive directors of FNPs. In addition, based upon the data gathered, to construct an FNP leadership paradigm (FLP). To assist in this effort, the Covenantal Framework of Action (CFA) was introduced to serve as a theoretical framework for assessing FNP organizational/ leadership processes and influences. CFA is characterized by noncentralization, participatory decision-making, and servant leadership. Construction of the FNP leadership paradigm and its comparison to CFA revealed that FLP and CFA were similar along every dimension of CFA.
