The Impact Of Economic Stress On Marital Satisfaction, Luis Ventura
The Impact Of Economic Stress On Marital Satisfaction, Luis Ventura
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Marital satisfaction is considered a common index for measuring the stability and quality of marriages. Various factors have been considered to affect the stability and quality of marriages. In the context of the contemporary world, in which socioeconomic dynamics influence day-to-day existence, economic or financial stress is considered a factor that influences relationships. However, the extent to which economic stress affects relationships is unclear. This study examines the effect that economic stress (through its varied types) has on marital satisfaction. It applies a correlational research design where data is collected using quantitative survey questionnaires on a sample of 80 participants …

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The research study reflected the impact of relationship marketing on prospective students in a higher education institution. Student matriculation and retention are critical for institutions to remain viable in the increasingly competitive higher education sector. Various initiatives emerged to enhance student engagement and increase student enrollment; however, the study does not include a particular aspect of marketing to strengthen connections with prospective students. The research was a qualitative case study on the impact of relationship marketing efforts on current students of a single institution of higher education. The institution’s staff triangulated the results with findings from new student surveys to …

Exploring The Lived Experiences Of Secondary School Leaders Disciplining Black Students With Disabilities: A Transcendental Phenomenological Study, Conteous Arlene Hyman
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this transcendental phenomenological study was to describe the lived experiences of disciplining Black students with disabilities for school leaders at secondary schools in the southeastern region of the United States. The theory guiding this study was Glasser’s choice theory, as its sense of belonging may be resourceful for consideration by secondary school leaders during their disciplinary decision-making actions. The central research question for the study was: What are the lived experiences of secondary school leaders disciplining Black students with disabilities in a suburban district within the southeastern region of the United States? This qualitative study used convenience …

The Relationship Between Faith Integration Among Faculty In A Christian K-12 School And The Administrator’S Education Level And Years Of Experience In A Predictive Correlational Design, Kevin Jerome Barber
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this quantitative, predictive correlational research design was to determine the relationship between the administrator's education level and years of experience and faith integration learning among faculty within the Christian K-12 school. While research explains the administrator's importance, faith integration learning, and the need for education, there is a gap in the literature about how combining all three crucial factors helps Christian school faculty develop faith integration learning in the classroom. Most of the research has been conducted in qualitative studies, while this study desires to quantify the factors in a quantitative study. This quantitative, non-experimental study used …

Meditation Or Medication: Comparing Meditation To Phosphatidylserine In The Reduction Of Salivary Cortisol In Collegiate Tennis Players Post Exercise, Elizabeth Ann Novian Hughes
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Phosphatidylserine (PS) is a glycerophospholipid made in the body that is a part of the cell membrane (Carter & Greenwood, 2015; McArdle et al., 2019). PS reduces cortisol levels in the body (McArdle et al., 2019). Meditation is a “consistent self-care practice…that allows for developing loving awareness of current thoughts and feelings” (Valluri et al., 2024. Definition section, para. 1). Sadimi et al. (2021) used mindfulness meditation and found cortisol reductions were high. Meditation (MED) has not been compared to PS in reducing cortisol. Cortisol is increased in the body in response to the reception of stress input, such as …
Cherokee Removal Along The Trail, 1838-1839: Separating Fact From Fiction, John Norman Patterson
Cherokee Removal Along The Trail, 1838-1839: Separating Fact From Fiction, John Norman Patterson
Masters Theses
The misinformation and misunderstandings concerning Cherokee Indian removal has resulted from how subsequent generations of historians and Cherokees have talked and written about it. The historiography of Indian removal is quite extensive but with respect to Cherokee removal not so much because most of the original documents kept by the Cherokees unexplainably disappeared in the nineteenth century. The drought of 1837-1838 was used as an excuse by John Ross and Lewis Ross to insist that the northern route be used to remove the remaining Cherokees to Indian Territory. Evidence presented clearly demonstrates that both men sought to enrich themselves at …

The Communication Theory Of Argumentativeness: A Study Analyzing Argumentativeness And Demographics, Monika Joanna Yates
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Quantitative research regarding the communication theory of argumentativeness is presented. The communication theory of argumentativeness, with its established argumentativeness conceptualization, scale, and measure, is central. The argumentativeness conceptualization, scale, and measure are used to posit argumentativeness groupings, which are then analyzed along with demographics within argumentativeness groupings. The following research questions are posed and answered: What is the distribution of argumentativeness within the general population? Are there identifiable segments/groupings of argumentativeness within the general population? Are there certain demographic characteristics that accompany the argumentativeness groupings of low, middle, and high argumentativeness measures? The conclusion finds: there are identifiable argumentativeness groupings; …

Effects Of Coping Strategies On Acculturation-Based Conflict And Mental Health Symptoms Among Asian American Youths, Jennifer Yu
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Various research has identified numerous culturally specific stressors as contributors to Asian American (AA) youth mental health problems and their functional impairments. Proper coping strategies are crucial for children to manage stresses resulting from relational conflicts, and a specific coping strategy may either facilitate engaging in adaptable responses or avoiding the conflicts. However, there is a lack of studies to determine the types of coping strategies that have been effective among AA youths to reduce conflicts with their parents and to decrease their depression and anxiety. To address these limitations, this research study aimed at exploring the types of effective …

Financial Illiteracy Elimination Through The Development Of A Biblical Financial Literacy Curriculum For New Life Sda Church, Christopher L. Hughes
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The problem at New Life SDA Church is biblical financial illiteracy, caused by a lack of scriptural understanding of stewardship; the existence of knowledge gaps pertaining to modern, personal financial management practices; and substandard education across generations. As a result, there is a cascading effect of sustained cross-generational scarcity, difficulties fulfilling daily commitments and responsibilities, problematic family landscapes, and non-fulfillment of church-related stewardship. Protection against financial illiteracy is for New Life Seventh-day Adventist congregants to study and utilize biblical stewardship principles, along with modern financial concepts and practices in their lives. Therefore, this research project’s purpose was to train this …

Child Sexual Abuse And Mental Health: The Role Of Intrusive Thoughts And Spiritual Warfare, Sheriese S. Sanchez
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
A number of psychological issues are experienced by individuals who have experienced CSA, including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, as well as intrusive thoughts contribute to the perpetuation of the mental health problem. Studies have shown that spiritual practices, such as prayer, meditation, reading the Bible, and reciting scripture affirmations, can improve mental health, improving one’s psychological well-being. Further, intrusive thoughts may be initiated by dark spiritual influences. Despite ongoing research, there is a lack of integration between disciplines of science and biblical truth concerning the impact of immaterial spiritual dimensions on psychological states. To understand intrusive thoughts, one must …

The Impact Of Covid-19 Pandemic On The Mental Health Of Frontline Workers Of Toronto Homeless Shelters (Csws), Isiaka Omotosho Akande
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The objective of this phenomenological research is to understand the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of the client service workers (CSWs) in Toronto homeless shelters. Kolcaba's theory of comfort guides this study. This theory holds that being comfortable is one of the fundamental necessities for relief after stressful health care events or incidents. Comfort boosts health-seeking behaviors for patients, clients, and workers. In the context of the City of Toronto’s homeless shelters, Kolcaba’s theory of comfort suggests that if client service workers are given adequate resources to balance their health and mental needs, thus stabilizing their comfortabilities, then …

Learning From Sesame Street: A Qualitative Analysis Of Acceptance, Inclusion, And Cultural Diversity, Justin M. Polette
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Sesame Street first aired on public television in 1968. Sesame Street was developed by television producer Joan Ganz Cooney in partnership with educational and developmental psychologists to bridge the achievement gap in school readiness, specifically in underserved and underrepresented urban communities. This achievement gap was credited to societal racism and a lack of acculturation and racial diversity. Sesame Street was one of the first television programs, and the first children’s program, to feature an urban setting and a culturally diverse cast. During the 1940s, television programming was an almost exclusively white, Caucasian medium. The roles written for minority characters were …

Towards A Biblical Theology Of Natural Theology, Armen Oganessian
Towards A Biblical Theology Of Natural Theology, Armen Oganessian
Liberty Theological Review
This article aims to construct a biblical theology of natural theology through an examination of the Book of Job. This examination will employ a three-pronged approach. Firstly, it will place the Book of Job within the overarching redemptive-historical narrative of Scripture. Secondly, it will analyze the book's structure, viewing it as crucial for interpreting its message on natural theology. Finally, it will examine Job's dialogue with his companions (chapters 3:1-31:40) as a discussion of natural theology. This tripartite analysis will demonstrate that Job’s author prompts readers to assess the conversation between Job and his friends within the framework of the …
Defending The Doctrine Of Hell, Jordan P. Ballard
Defending The Doctrine Of Hell, Jordan P. Ballard
Liberty Theological Review
The doctrine of hell, or the final state of the wicked, has become one of the most objectionable Christian doctrines because it depicts God as vengeful and wrathful, which is offensive to human sensibilities. As an extension of the problem of evil, where God is put on trial for allowing what may appear to be gratuitous pain and suffering in the world, many Christians and non-Christians alike wonder how a loving God could consign people to suffering in hell forever. After all, why didn’t God make a world where all would be saved if He is truly loving? Belief in …
God's Sovereignty In Jeremiah's Call (Jer. 1:4-19), Joseph Peters
God's Sovereignty In Jeremiah's Call (Jer. 1:4-19), Joseph Peters
Liberty Theological Review
In Jeremiah 1:4-19, God reveals to Jeremiah that God had chosen him to be a prophet over the nations before Jeremiah was even born. Even though Jeremiah presents objections to his commission, God assures Jeremiah that he will proclaim God’s message and does not need to fear as God will be with him. The message is concerned with both destruction and reconstruction, especially concerning Judah. Knowing that such a message would inevitably meet with opposition, God reassures Jeremiah that he has given Jeremiah the words to say and the protection that he needs to fulfill his task. This article will …
"Restoration Under The Davidic Shepherd-King": An Exposition Of Ezekiel 37:15–28, Angela Gloria Erum
"Restoration Under The Davidic Shepherd-King": An Exposition Of Ezekiel 37:15–28, Angela Gloria Erum
Liberty Theological Review
Considering what is happening to Israel in the Middle East these days, this exposition of Ezekiel 37:15–28 provides hope for the people of Israel as well as the Gentile believers in Christ. Ezekiel 37:15–28 exhibits Yahweh’s covenantal promise to gather His people (the people of Israel) from other nations, restore them to their land, and reunify them (both northern and southern kingdoms) as one nation under one king, the Davidic shepherd-king; thus, other nations would realize that Yahweh is God. By examining Ezekiel 37:15–28, this paper will attempt to demonstrate the exegesis and the theological implications of the passage through …

Who Can Stand? Murthy V. Missouri And Social Media Censorship, Natalie C. Rhoads
Who Can Stand? Murthy V. Missouri And Social Media Censorship, Natalie C. Rhoads
Liberty University Law Review
As the influence of social media proliferates, two things increase accordingly: government attempts to control it and the law’s attempt to provide a coherent framework. There are ongoing conversations both within and without the legal community about the extent to which individuals have a right against the social media companies to create or consume content. But the Court in Murthy v. Missouri had a chance to sidestep those questions and address whether individuals have a right against the government to curb its influence on those companies. This issue has the potential to be one of the most significant questions in …
