Not In This House, Satan! An Integrative Framing Analysis Of Body-Positive Posts On Instagram, Gladys Mana Momade
Not In This House, Satan! An Integrative Framing Analysis Of Body-Positive Posts On Instagram, Gladys Mana Momade
Theses and Dissertations
Scholars have associated the portrayal of idealized images of the body on social media with the negative body image of users, which manifests as several mental health problems such as eating disorders, body dissatisfaction, body dysmorphic disorder, depression, and anxiety in users. To tackle this issue, body-positive (BoPo) influencers on Instagram, having achieved a state of positive body image, post verbal and visual messages to advocate against normative ideologies that foster the negative body image of social media users. These messages have some implications for health communication and body image research. This study analyzes body-positive influencers’ self-assertion and self-expression in …

Art Education As A Tool Of Feminist Resistance In Iran ( 1979-2022 ), Sedigheh Fathollahzadeh Dizaji
Theses and Dissertations
Art Education as a Tool of Feminist Resistance in Iran is a thesis that explores the use of art education as a form of resistance against patriarchy and gender inequality in Iran. The Absence Of Trauma-Informed Practices In The High School Production Process: A Qualitative Study, Jimmy Chrismon, Adam W. Carter
The Absence Of Trauma-Informed Practices In The High School Production Process: A Qualitative Study, Jimmy Chrismon, Adam W. Carter
Faculty Publications – Theatre, Dance, and Film
Theatre has the potential to impact students’ mental health, especially when creating and telling stories with traumatic themes. Theatre teachers are uniquely positioned to unintentionally inflict further harm on their students if they do not incorporate trauma-informed practices (TIP) in the work they do in class and in productions. As theatre educators typically do not have special certifications or credentials in mental health, knowing TIP is crucial to help prevent the retraumatization of students who have experienced trauma. This study discusses current practices in the high school production process in the United States and the absence of TIP in theatre …
