George M. Waldburg was a wealthy landowner of Savannah and St. Catherine's Island, Georgia. He grew cotton on his plantation, owned a number of slaves, and invested in the railroad and banking companies. He was active in community affairs. Doctors and judges were included in his friends circle in Savannah. He died in 1856 at the age of sixty-one; leaving an estate valued at $51,955.00 to his brother Jacob.

John Morel is among those of consequence in the early history of the Georgia Colony at Savannah. The eldest son of Peter Morel, he was born in Savannah at the dawn of the colony. He was a man of property, a man of letters, a merchant and a sea island planter. He was active in governmental affairs and was a patriot in the early days of the Revolutionary War. He was a member of Christ Church, the mother Church of the colony. During his brief lifetime of forty-three years, he was married twice and was the father of eleven children. …

Enoch D. Hendry was born September 28, 1822 in Liberty County, Georgia. He married Caroline Staley on December 5, 1847. They had five children. From 1850 until about 1859 he was engaged in business in Savannah, Georgia. In 1859 he moved to Balckshear, Georgia in the newly created county of Pierce. He remarried a resident of Pierce county for almost the rest of his life. He organized the first company of Confederate volunteers from Pierce county. He died in Waycross on July 14, 1909.

Herman Kuhlman born circa 1808 in either Hanover, Lower Saxony or Westenberg, Prussia. Emigrated to U.S. (year unknown). Married a German woman named Caroline (year unknown).Came to Savannah in the early 1840's and worked in the grocery business. Had eight children between the years 1841-1852 (all died at early ages, except for two). Caroline died in 1852. Kuhlman remarried in 1853 to Emelie Engels, also of Germany. Had eleven children between the years 1854-1876. Gave up grocery business for farming in the early 1860's. Moved to Tattnall County, Ga. between the years 1860-1870. Major Edward White was born in Brooklyn, Massachusetts in 1758. He came to Savannah in 1785 as a soldier in the Revolutionary Army. He married Hildred Scott Stubbs in 1792. They had three children by 1806, when Major White drew up his will. Major White held several important social and civic positions in Savannah. He acquired real property in several counties. He died in 1812 and was interred in Colonial Cemetery.

John Reedy was born early in the 19th century in Ireland. He came to the United States in 1837 and to Savannah, Georgia shortly thereafter. He and his wife, Jane were the parents of four children. Mr. Reedy became a property owner in 1849; he was elected to his first political office as a Justice of the Peace in 1853. He remained active in politics until he was found guilty of malpractice of office in 1871. He died in 1882 and was buried in Catholic Cemetery.
