One-Factorizations Of The Complete Graph $K_{P+1}$ Arising From Parabolas, György Kiss, Nicola Pace, Angelo Sonnino
Theory & Applications of Graphs
There are three types of affine regular polygons in AG(2, q): ellipse, hyperbola and parabola. The first two cases have been investigated in previous papers. In this note, a particular class of geometric one-factorizations of the complete graph Kn arising from parabolas is constructed and described in full detail. With the support of computer aided investigation, it is also conjectured that up to isomorphisms this is the only one-factorization where each one-factor is either represented by a line or a parabola.

Utilizing Polypropylene Fiber In Sustainable Structural Concrete Mixtures, Saman Hedjazi, Daniel A. Castillo Pereira
Utilizing Polypropylene Fiber In Sustainable Structural Concrete Mixtures, Saman Hedjazi, Daniel A. Castillo Pereira
Civil Engineering & Construction: Faculty Publications
Polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete (PFRC) is becoming more popular for structural purposes due to its durability, electrical resistivity, and mechanical properties. In this study, the influence of polypropylene fiber on the mechanical properties and ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) were determined. Six different fiber volume fractions of polypropylene were considered in the experimental investigation with varying water-cement ratios and curing conditions. Non-destructive testing methods were utilized to determine the UPV of the PFRC. Available equations in literature for predicting the RFC's compressive strength based on UPV values were selected. However, the computed values did not show …

Transmission Dynamics Of Covid-19 In Ghana And The Impact Of Public Health Interventions, Sylvia Ofori, Jessica S. Schwind, Kelly L. Sullivan, Benjamin J. Cowling, Gerardo Chowell, Isaac Fung
Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Environmental Health Sciences: Faculty Publications
This study characterized COVID-19 transmission in Ghana in 2020 and 2021 by estimating the time-varying reproduction number (Rt) and exploring its association with various public health interventions at the national and regional levels. Ghana experienced four pandemic waves, with epidemic peaks in July 2020 and January, August, and December 2021. The epidemic peak was the highest nationwide in December 2021 with Rt ≥ 2. Throughout 2020 and 2021, per-capita cumulative case count by region increased with population size. Mobility data suggested a negative correlation between Rt and staying home during the first 90 days of the pandemic. The …

Jonny Boy Cookies' Event Campaign Targeting College Students, Ye'senia L. Agosto-Rivera
Honors College Theses
The evaluation of data from social media sites can offer valuable decision-making data for small businesses. Generally, college students are dependent on the Internet and social media sites precisely to connect with others socially. Can small businesses with limited finances and limited technical knowledge compete in this new social media-driven market to develop more in-person events? This paper discusses a detailed event campaign for Jonny Boy Cookies to expand their college student demographic beyond their current middle-aged women demographic. Quantitative approaches will be used to guide the research and implementation of new methods.
Development And Optimization Of Classification Neural Networks For Disaster-Assessment Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems, Maria Isabel Gonzalez Bocanegra
Development And Optimization Of Classification Neural Networks For Disaster-Assessment Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems, Maria Isabel Gonzalez Bocanegra
Honors College Theses
This research focuses on increasing the classification accuracy of convolutional neural networks in an autonomous network of unmanned aerial vehicles for transportation disaster management. The autonomous network of UAVs will allow first responders to optimize their rescue plans by providing relevant information on inaccessible roads. The research seeks to explore different methods to optimize the architecture of convolutional networks for the multiclass classification of disaster-damaged roads.
