The purpose of this field study was to evaluate the physical facilities of the Clinton school district and determine the adequacy of those facilities for the next five years. The procedures followed in the study included the writer working as a member of a board of education appointed facilities committee.
Some of the specific areas of concentration for the writer included collection and interpretation of data for the purpose of describing conditions and making projections of need. An internship, by the writer, under the direction of Mr. Ronald L. Cope, superintendent of Palestine Community Unit School District No. 3, and Dr. G. C. Matzner of the Eastern Illinois University Department of School Service Personnel is summarized in this paper. Observations of the superintendent's duties, joint projects with the superintendent, and central office related activities by the writer are described.

In February, 1977 Supportive Services (SS) was designed as a special education program for the elementary schools in Community Unit District #3, Georgetown, Illinois. Georgetown has 900 students in grades kindergarten through eight.
Three special education teachers developed the supportive services program with input from other district specialists who work with exceptional children. Following study sessions and writing the program, approval was sought from the director of the special education district, the school principal, and the school district superintendent. Upon request of the superintendent, the teachers presented the program to the school board for approval. After approval was received from …

The practice of total communication in language training for non-deaf individuals labeled mentally retarded has been guided by very little empirical evidence. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of a total communication approach facilitates an increase in the frequency of expressive language behavior in children labeled trainable mentally handicapped. The three subjects studied, one male and two females, were selected on the basis of age and I.Q. They were enrolled in a self-contained, public school which was located in a rural area of Illinois. The purpose of this study was to investigate the student awareness of the guidance services in junior high schools in Taiwan. Specifically, it was anticipated that the study findings would provide a basis to generate guidelines for developing a realistic guidance program based on a better understanding of students for whom the service is offered.
A questionnaire composed of 26 items was designed to investigate attitudes toward the current guidance services from 1,664 respondents who were junior high students in Kaohsiung Metropolis, Taiwan, the Republic of China in 1981. The purpose of this study was to construct and validate an overhand passing test for experienced volleyball players. The test designed in this study required each player to pass to two different targets, 90 degrees from each other.
The two targets were three feet from the junction of two unobstructed walls. On each wall a horizontal line was taped three feet long and ten feet above the floor. At the end of each horizontal line, a vertical line was taped, extending three feet above the ten foot line and perpendicular to it.

This thesis focused on nonverbal communication and the ways in which it may be employed to facilitate change in the context of psychotherapy. The anthropological, psychological, and medical literature was reviewed, and an overview presented of the relevant research on nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication forms a critical dimension in the overall communication in the psychotherapeutic interaction. The importance of the therapist’s recognition of nonverbal behaviors characteristic of particular personality structures as well as the functions of nonverbal messages was examined. The utilization of meaningful nonverbal behavior by the therapist can greatly facilitate the client's change into more healthy and constructive …
