What Are We Negotiating For? Public Interest Bargaining, Gary Rhoades
What Are We Negotiating For? Public Interest Bargaining, Gary Rhoades
Journal of Collective Bargaining in the Academy
Most bargaining, interest-based or traditional, focuses on the interests of the negotiating parties. The premise of traditional bargaining is that the two parties at the table have fundamentally competing interests, and that it is a game in which one party’s win is the other’s loss. In some regards, Interest-Based Bargaining (IBB) offers a different starting point and process. An IBB approach involves going through a formal training before the negotiations. It reframes the negotiation process as a search for common ground and mutual interest/gain. No matter what process is followed, each party brings to the table what it sees as …

Butchered Bones, Carved Stones: Hunting And Social Change In Late Saxon England, Shawn Hale
Butchered Bones, Carved Stones: Hunting And Social Change In Late Saxon England, Shawn Hale
Masters Theses
Textual, archaeological, and art historical evidence all point to a significant reorganization of Anglo-Saxon society in the tenth and eleventh centuries. Changes in landownership, the development of proto-urban centers, the growth of merchant and artisan classes, as well as the proliferation of occupations associated with royal and regional administration, collectively altered the Anglo-Saxon social order. Established elites and the nouvuae riche utilized exclusionary measures to counter any degree of social mobility provided by economic and political changes.

Masters Theses
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between language and image in Nonsense texts through analysis of illustrations, animations, and live-action portrayals of scenes from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There, Norton Juster's The Phantom Tollbooth, and their adaptations. This study proceeds by first discussing the discrepancies between various definitions of the critical term "nonsense" as applied to a genre of literature, then moves on to critique the established term of "visual nonsense" as used within the discourse community. The analysis of word-image relationships in the sample texts …
