Adaptation Of Regional Representative Soil Project And Soil Judging For Cameroon, Celestine Che
Adaptation Of Regional Representative Soil Project And Soil Judging For Cameroon, Celestine Che
All Dissertations
Representative regional soils have agricultural, cultural, economic, environmental, and historical importance to Cameroon. Twenty seven regional representative soils have been identified in Cameroon. A set of laboratory exercises, assignments and exam questions have been developed utilizing the Regional Representative Soil Project (RRSP) that gives students an opportunity to practice interpretation of soil series descriptions, taxonomic classes, soil forming factors, and soil physical and chemical properties. The RRSP can be further enhanced and complemented with Soil Judging. Conventional soil judging as practiced in the United States has been adapted for Cameroon by a graduate student from that country using an undergraduate-level …

The Best Brick House In All The Country: Documenting The Structural Evolution Of Medway, Mount Holly, South Carolina, Neale Canter Nickels
All Theses
This thesis represents the assembly of physical architectural analysis, archival investigation, and the study of the work of previous historians on the subject of the main house at Medway Plantation. Medway is a property whose origins can be traced back to the seventeenth century. Since then, it has changed form many times. A great amount of research has been conducted on Medway by historians, both amateur and professional. Few, however, if any have ever been able to study Medway with the stucco removed from the exterior and walls and floors exposed on the inside.
This was the impetus for researching …

Focus on Creative Inquiry
The poster forum today displays a few of the more than 400 projects initiated by Clemson University Creative Inquiry teams.
What is Creative Inquiry? It is small-group learning for all students. It is the imaginative combination of engaged learning and undergraduate research. Ultimately, it is the creation of an Ah-ha! Moment — and it is unique to Clemson University.
Creative Inquiry establishes small teams of undergraduate students that work with faculty mentors to take on problems that spring from their own curiosity, from a professor’s challenge, or from the pressing needs of the world around them. Students take ownership of …

Surface Shape Perception In Volumetric Stereo Displays, Meng Zhu
Surface Shape Perception In Volumetric Stereo Displays, Meng Zhu
Graduate Research and Discovery Symposium (GRADS)
Research have shown that specifically designed textures applied on geometrical surfaces can greatly enhance human perception of the shape, orientation and spatial relationships of the surfaces. This is especially so for surfaces in a stereoscopic display environment. However, virtually all practical systems of volumetric rendering use no texture. Previous studies that have looked at this issue used either simple 3D surfaces or terrain surfaces. In this work, we explore the application of textures to more complex surfaces that come from various sources, e.g. an isosurface extracted from a volume dataset. The challenge is to generate uniformly distributed grid like textures …
Fostering Leadership Capacity In Three South Carolina High Schools: An Exploratory Study, Hattie Hammonds, Hans W. Klar Dr., Kristin S. Huggins Dr.
Fostering Leadership Capacity In Three South Carolina High Schools: An Exploratory Study, Hattie Hammonds, Hans W. Klar Dr., Kristin S. Huggins Dr.
Graduate Research and Discovery Symposium (GRADS)
Some states include fostering teacher leadership in principal evaluations, so principals need to provide opportunities and mentor or coach their staffs to assume leadership roles. Yet, less is known about the specific ways principals develop the leadership capacities of others. In this exploratory study we examined how principals in three South Carolina high schools intentionally fostered the capacities of leaders to enhance their schools’ organizational capacities. Our research questions were: 1) How are emerging leaders identified and selected by their principals? 2) How do principals foster leadership capacity in these leaders? Data collected for this multi-site qualitative study consisted of …

“…And My World:” Perceptions Of County Educators And Volunteers Toward International 4-H Programs, Jeff Sallee, Sarah Lancaster
“…And My World:” Perceptions Of County Educators And Volunteers Toward International 4-H Programs, Jeff Sallee, Sarah Lancaster
Journal of Youth Development
The phrase “…and my world” was added to the 4-H pledge in 1973, forever solidifying 4-H’s commitment to international programming and global citizenship. In 2008, Oklahoma 4-H began to consider revitalizing its international outreach. After researching the barriers to International 4-H projects, Oklahoma 4-H educators and volunteers were surveyed to discover their interests in this area with the intent of beginning a renewed International 4-H program with educator and volunteer support. The survey results indicate that 4-H volunteers and youth educators prefer short term International educational programs that focus on cultural awareness and service-learning for older youth
