For the assessment of the curative effect of Manosa alliacea on Freud’s adjuvant (FA) arthritis on Swiss albino rats. Methanol extract from M. alliacea (MEMA) was administered orally at 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg, 28 days after FA immunization. For control and treatment groups, paw volume, body weight, hematological parameters, X-ray, and histological tests were measured. In addition, reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to measure the levels of various inflammatory markers. In vitro, DPPH and H2O2 tests were used to evaluate the antioxidant capability. MEMA decreased paw volume and paw thickness, bodyweight considerably (P < 0.05, 0.01, 0.001), compared to hematological anomalies of arthritis control. X- rays tests and histological tests did not reveal significant structural changes in the rat ankle joints administered with MEMA. The levels of expression tumor necrosis factor - α, NF-Kβ, IL-1β, and COX-2 were significantly suppressed in the treatment groups. The in-silico study has shown that a number of chemical components in the plants under study can effectively bind to various inflammatory targets. That is why we say M. alliacea is a good source for treating rheumatoid arthritis.

Polymer As Precipitation Inhibitor Of Weak Base Drug: An Update And Brief Review, Viviane Annisa, Syaiful Choiri, Teuku Nanda Saifullah Sulaiman, Agung Endro Nugroho
The Thai Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Precipitation due to supersaturation phenomenon and intraluminal solubilization behavior is mainly faced on reducing bioavailability, particularly for weak base drugs. Incomplete and extend of absorption can be avoided by modification of drug-excipient interaction namely polymers. This interaction is proposed to stabilize the amorphous form of drug through reducing nucleation followed by crystal growth. Therefore, polymers can be utilized to inhibit the precipitation phenomenon through their interaction with poorly water-soluble and weak base drugs. However, until to date, there was no recent updates on the use of polymer for precipitation inhibitor of weak base drug. This review discussed the brief and …

In the work presented, an high-performance liquid chromatography method was developed and validated for the estimation of seratrodast (SER) in spiked human plasma, using flurbiprofen as an internal standard (IS). The drug and IS were extracted from pooled human plasma sample using 5 mL of tert-butyl methyl ether with 200 μL of 1% v/v formic acid. Both SER and IS were well separated and resolved from each other and plasma interferents using 20 mM phosphate buffer (pH 3.0) with acetonitrile in the proportion of 30: 70% v/v, in an isocratic mode at 1 mL/min on a C18 column and detection …

The present study investigated the phytochemical, high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) profiling, total phenolic content, antibacterial activity, acute toxicity studies, hemodynamic parameters, myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity and serum procalcitonin (PCT) levels of hydroalcoholic extract of Bryum weigelii (HE-Bw), and its effects on cecal ligation and puncture (CLP) induced sepsis in mice. The preliminary phytochemical screening showed that HE-Bw contains alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, phenolics, and tannins. The HPTLC analysis of HE-Bw identified three unknown components with different Rf values and area percentage. The total phenolic amount for HE-Bw was equivalent to 211.6 ± 0.8 mg of gallic acid per 100 g of dried …
