Objectives: To evaluate the effects of a smartphone game for active neck movement exercise on perceived neck discomfort, new onset neck pain, and active cervical range of motion (ROM) among high-risk office workers. Methods: A 6-month prospective cluster-randomized controlled trial was conducted involving 100 healthy but high-risk office workers from nine organizations. The cross-sectional study, conducted in May 2024 among undergraduate Chulalongkorn University pharmacy students in Thailand, aims to investigate the proportion of mental well-being levels and determine the relationship between general characteristics, perceptions of academic stress, and family relationships toward mental well-being levels among pharmacy students at Chulalongkorn University. Every year over 300,000 women worldwide are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and half of these patients die from this disease. The symptoms of ovarian cancer are very general and often confused with other common female diseases making ovarian cancer a challenging disease to diagnose and treat. Platinum-based chemotherapy, including cisplatin, stands as the first-line treatment for ovarian cancer. However, chemotherapy resistance remains a continuing problem, contributing to a high mortality rate. This study compared the number of postural shifts and body perceived discomfort while leaning and sitting on air-filled seat cushion for 1-hour in healthy office workers. Sixty office workers typed a standard text at a computer workstation for an hour in three sitting conditions: leaning on a seat cushion placing behind the low back, sitting on a seat cushion placing under the buttocks, and sitting without a seat cushion (a control condition). Janus transition metal dichalcogenides (J-TMDCs) is a new class of materials which shares the same honey-comb structure as graphene and conventional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) in monolayer. Objectives: Our study aimed to explore the effects of a therapeutic lifestyle modification (TLM) intervention on cardiometabolic health, sexual functioning, and health-related quality of life in perimenopausal Chinese women. ผลการฝึกสตาร์เอ็กเคอร์ชั่นร่วมกับชุดอุปกรณ์ควบคุมท่าทางต่อความสามารถในการทรงตัวและความแข็งแรงกล้ามเนื้อรยางค์ขาในผู้สูงอายุเพศหญิง, พิชชา พะกาวัลย์

การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลการฝึกสตาร์เอ็กเคอร์ชั่นร่วมกับชุดอุปกรณ์ควบคุมท่าทางต่อความสามารถในการทรงตัว ความแข็งแรง และความยืดหยุ่นของกล้ามเนื้อรยางค์ขา และความกลัวการหกล้มในผู้สูงอายุเพศหญิง กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้สูงอายุเพศหญิงที่มีสุขภาพดี อายุ 65 ถึง 75 ปี จำนวน 36 คน แบ่งเป็น 2 กลุ่ม โดยวิธีการแบ่งกลุ่มด้วยการจับคู่ตามอายุและคะแนนการทดสอบการทรงตัวด้วยการยืนขาเดียว ได้แก่ กลุ่มควบคุม ไม่ได้รับการฝึกออกกำลังกาย และดำเนินชีวิตประจำวันตามปกติ และกลุ่มทดลองได้รับการฝึกสตาร์เอ็กเคอร์ชั่นร่วมกับชุดอุปกรณ์ควบคุมท่าทาง ใช้ระยะเวลาในการฝึก 60 นาทีต่อครั้งเป็นระยะเวลา 8 สัปดาห์ ๆ ละ 3 วัน ก่อนและหลังการฝึกทำการทดสอบตัวแปรด้านองค์ประกอบของร่างกาย ความสามารถในการทรงตัว ความแข็งแรงกล้ามเนื้อ ความยืดหยุ่นของกล้ามเนื้อและข้อต่อรยางค์ขา และความกลัวการหกล้ม เมื่อได้ข้อมูลทำการวิเคราะห์สถิติการแจกแจงของข้อมูลด้วยการทดสอบชาพิโร-วิลค์ นำข้อมูลที่มีการแจกแจงแบบปกติมาวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบโดยสถิติความแปรปรวนสองทางแบบผสมเพื่อทดสอบความแตกต่างระหว่างค่าเฉลี่ยข้อมูล และเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างแบบรายคู่ โดยใช้วิธีการทดสอบแอลเอสดี ที่ระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 หลังการฝึก 8 สัปดาห์ พบว่า กลุ่มฝึกสตาร์เอ็กเคอร์ชั่นร่วมกับชุดอุปกรณ์ควบคุมท่าทางมีการพัฒนาความสามารถในการทรงตัว ความแข็งแรงกล้ามเนื้อที่ประกอบด้วย กลุ่มกล้ามเนื้อเหยียดเข่า และงอเข่า กลุ่มกล้ามเนื้องอสะโพก และเหยียดสะโพก กลุ่มกล้ามเนื้อกางสะโพก และหุบสะโพก กลุ่มกล้ามเนื้อถีบปลายข้อเท้าทั้งสองข้างที่ทดสอบ และมีจำนวนครั้งในการทดสอบลุกนั่ง 30 วินาทีเพิ่มขึ้น และความยืดหยุ่นของมุมการกางข้อสะโพกข้างซ้าย และมุมการกระดกปลายข้อเท้าข้างซ้ายเพิ่มขึ้น และมุมการงอข้อเข่าทั้งสองข้างเพิ่มขึ้นแตกต่างจากกลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 สรุปได้ว่า การฝึกสตาร์เอ็กเคอร์ชั่นร่วมกับชุดอุปกรณ์ควบคุมท่าทางสามารถเป็นทางเลือกในการออกกำลังกายที่ปลอดภัย และสามารถพัฒนาความสามารถในการทรงตัว ความแข็งแรงและความยืดหยุ่นของกล้ามเนื้อรยางค์ขา และความกลัวการหกล้มในผู้สูงอายุเพศหญิง

Cardiac voltage-gated sodium channels (NaV1.5) are essential to generate sodium current (INa) and regulate cardiac electrical conduction. Mutations in NaV1.5 can lead to cardiac disorders such as Brugada syndrome and Long QT Syndrome type 3 (LQTS3), potentially resulting in sudden cardiac death. Mutations p.I239V and p.M1487K have been identified in LQTS3 patients. The p.I239V mutation was found in a patient with mild symptoms and in family members who experienced sudden cardiac death, while the p.M1487K mutation is associated with more severe symptoms. This research presents a comprehensive investigation of the global stability of cellular steel columns, beam-columns, and frames. For the cellular steel columns, the existing equation for predicting the elastic buckling load is improved to account for the local bending deformation of the web posts. Subsequently, the column strength equation is analytically developed from the energy approach. N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is the most common RNA modification in eukaryotic mRNAs and viruses, playing a pivotal role in gene regulation. Currently, nanopore sequencing has emerged as a technique capable of identifying m6A positions by observing differences in ionic currents between wild-type and METTL3-knockout samples. This method sequences native RNA strands directly, bypassing reverse transcription. The xPore program compares the ionic currents from both samples to determine m6A positions and their modification rates. However, obtaining METTL3-knockout RNAs is not always achievable. Hence, the researchers must precisely elucidate the genetic bases controlling antioxidant-related traits in rice grains. In this study, we aimed to identify the genes involved in antioxidant traits in local Thai rice. The first strategy was conducting a genome-wide association analysis (GWAS) using 233 accessions of local Thai rice. This study aimed to investigate the contamination of third-generation cephalosporin (3GC)-resistant Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Enterococcus faecalis, and E. faecium in commercial raw meat-based diets (RMBDs) for cats and dogs in Thailand. Fifty RMBD products from ten brands were included for total plate count and bacterial isolation. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was conducted for the targeted bacteria. Extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) production and the presence of blaCTX-M and mcr genes were detected. Additionally, E. coli phylogroups and Salmonella serovars were identified. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative rheumatic disease characterized by articular cartilage degeneration. This articular cartilage degradation is positively correlated with chondrocyte apoptosis. The Fas/Fas ligand (FasL) system is part of the extrinsic apoptosis pathway that regulates cell death through the binding of Fas on target cells to FasL on effector cells. A new clinical chemistry analyzer using surface plasmon field-enhanced fluorescence spectroscopy (SPFS) has been introduced into veterinary diagnostic laboratories as a point-of-care unit, enabling rapid turnaround times for both diagnosis and follow-up. Consequently, the test results must be accurate, precise, and reliable. This research aims to evaluate the method performance of the analyzer. The evaluation was conducted according to Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines using method validation. The performance evaluation included studies on imprecision (within-day and between-day), method comparison, recovery tests, and linearity for determining progesterone concentration. การศึกษาในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาตัวชี้วัดสำหรับประเมินคุณภาพพื้นที่สีเขียวและทดสอบประสิทธิภาพการใช้งาน การศึกษาทำโดย 1) กำหนดวัตถุประสงค์การใช้งานตัวชี้วัดและผู้ที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้อง, 2) รวบรวมตัวชี้วัดที่เกี่ยวข้อง, 3) วิเคราะห์และเลือกตัวชี้วัดที่เหมาะสม, 4) จัดทำเป็นแบบประเมิน และ 5) ทดสอบกับพื้นที่สีเขียวตัวอย่างจำนวน 15 แห่ง ได้แก่ ป่าธรรมชาติ/ป่าชุมชน 3 แห่ง สวนสาธารณะ 4 แห่ง พื้นที่ส่วนบุคคล 5 แห่ง และหลังคาเขียว 3 แห่ง ผลการศึกษาได้ตัวชี้วัดคุณภาพพื้นที่สีเขียวแบ่งเป็น 4 ด้าน ได้แก่ สภาพแวดล้อม ความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ บริการของระบบนิเวศ และการจัดการในพื้นที่ รวม 124 ตัวชี้วัด 370 คะแนน ผลการใช้ตัวชี้วัดพบว่าคะแนนคุณภาพพื้นที่สีเขียวอยู่ในช่วงระหว่าง 296-152 คะแนน ซึ่งเป็นผลจากวัตถุประสงค์การใช้งานและลักษณะพื้นที่ที่มีความหลากหลาย คะแนนแต่ละด้านของพื้นที่สีเขียวแต่ละประเภทส่วนใหญ่มีความสัมพันธ์กับลักษณะพื้นที่ การดูแลและการใช้งานของมนุษย์ ในส่วนของการใช้งานพบว่าผู้ใช้งานมีความพึงพอใจแบบประเมินที่สร้างขึ้นโดยภาพรวมในระดับปานกลางถึงดี (3.73 ± 1.08 คะแนน) โดยเป็นผลจากการออกแบบการประเมินในรูปแบบรวดเร็ว มีการอำนวยความสะดวกในการบันทึกข้อมูลในโปรแกรม Microsoft Excel ใช้เวลาและกำลังคนในการประเมินต่ำ แต่แบบประเมินยังต้องพัฒนาคำอธิบายรายละเอียดและขั้นตอนใช้งานรวมถึงเกณฑ์การให้คะแนนเพิ่มเติม นอกจากนี้ ควรเพิ่มจำนวนพื้นที่สีเขียวที่ประเมินให้มากขึ้นเพื่อทดสอบและปรับปรุงประสิทธิภาพตัวชี้วัด ตลอดจนส่งเสริมให้ผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องกลุ่มต่าง ๆ นำไปใช้ประโยชน์เพื่อพัฒนาคุณภาพพื้นที่สีเขียวของประเทศต่อไป

Influenza A viruses (IAVs) can infect birds and a wide variety of mammals. Live bird markets (LBMs) and free-grazing ducks (FGDs) are the important reservoirs of influenza A viruses in Thailand. This study aims to gain the overall information of IAVs circulated in LBMs in Bangkok and in FGD flocks in Thailand. IAVs surveillance in LBM in Bangkok was conducted to identified the IAVs in LBM during 2019-2020. The IAV-H9N2 (n=8) and IAV-H9Nx (n=2) were isolated from 1,178 swab samples. Canine astrovirus (CaAstV) and canine kobuvirus (CaKoV) are recently recognized pathogens associated with canine gastrointestinal disease (GID), though their exact role remains poorly understood. In both Vietnam and Thailand, these viruses were detected in dogs with and without diarrhea, particularly high frequency in puppies under 6 months old. Co-infection between CaAstV and CaKoV, as well as with other common canine enteric viruses (canine parvovirus, canine enteric coronavirus, canine distemper virus), were also confirmed. Complete coding sequences (CDS) of 7 CaAstV strains and 9 CaKoV strains from Vietnam, and 2 CaAstV strains and 4 CaKoV strains from Thailand were successfully identified. …

Overpopulation of companion animals, particularly dogs and cats, is a global concern, necessitating effective population control policies. This research investigates the attitudes of veterinarians and pet owners in Thailand regarding dog and cat surgical sterilization and the use of progestins as non-surgical contraception. The study also assesses the effects of intratesticular administration of alpha-mangostin encapsulated in nanostructured lipid carriers (AM-NLC) in male cats, and adverse effects. The importance and rationale of this thesis were to address the critical knowledge gap in equine endometrosis by developing a comprehensive 3-dimensional (3D) in vitro model of equine endometrial tissue using advanced technology like 3D bioprinting. Study 1 aimed to develop an in vitro model for studying equine endometrial function by isolating and characterizing equine endometrial epithelial cells (eECs) and endometrial mesenchymal stem cells (eMSCs) using a modified tissue explantation outgrowth technique.
