Journal of Metals, Materials and Minerals

Fe3Si is under interest as a ferromagnetic electrode of magnetic tunneling junctions (MTJs). Its crystalline structure is important for achieving high device efficiency. This work focuses on mechanical alloying of 3:1 ratio of 99% pure Fe and Si powder mixtures by ball milling and sintering. The mixtures were ball-milled for various durations up to 20 h. Then, they were sintered from 400°C  to 800°C for 4 h in Ar.  SEM images and particle size analysis show significant reduction in average particle size of the mixtures after ball milling for 20 h. A-12-year-old female West Highland White Terrier presented with a history of cardiac syncope. Physical examination revealed bradycardia. Sick sinus syndrome (SSS) was diagnosed with electrocardiography and 24-hour Holter monitoring. However, the owner made the decision to receive the pharmacological therapy. Therefore, a combination of hyoscyamine sulfate and theophylline was prescribed. Following two adjustments of drug dosage and frequency within a year, the total number of heartbeats increased from 58,091 to 73,686 beats, and the mean heart rate increased from 44 to 59 bpm. Sertoli cell tumors (SCTs) are sex cord–stromal tumors of the testis that are common in dogs but rare in boars. This study characterized the pathological features of an SCT in a boar and compared its immunohistochemical profile with that of canine SCTs. Testicular tissues from boars (SCT, n = 1; normal testes, n = 2) and dogs (SCT, n = 3; normal testes, n = 5) were evaluated by histopathology and immunohistochemistry for proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), vimentin, and cytokeratin. Background: Quantifying thoracic kyphosis is essential in musculoskeletal and rehabilitation practice. Although radiographic Cobb angle is commonly treated as a reference standard, repeated imaging is limited by cost and radiation exposure. Therefore, clinicians frequently use non-radiographic tools such as inclinometers and flexicurve rulers, which have shown acceptable reliability and variable levels of validity in different populations. The objective of this study was examine Pearson correlations between a patented K-Kyphometer (Utility Patent No. 23366) and two flexicurve-derived measures—Kyphosis Index (KI) and Kyphosis Angle (K angle).

Background: Mental health problems among older adults are a growing public health concern, particularly in urban areas. Mental health literacy can enhance problem recognition, self-help, and help-seeking. This study examined changes in mental health literacy and resilience among urban older adults following an integrated activity-based and tele-monitoring intervention.

Methods: A one-group quasi-experimental repeated-measures study was conducted among 30 adults aged 60 years and older in urban communities in Thailand. Participants received a structured 3-hour activity-based mental health literacy intervention followed by 1 month of tele-monitoring support. Background: Integrated lifestyle interventions combining nutritional, physical, and psychological strategies may improve glycemic control in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, evidence regarding the combined effects of high-fiber functional foods, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and mindfulness therapy remains limited, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. This study evaluated the effects of a multimodal lifestyle intervention on glycemic responses among individuals with T2DM and non-diabetic adults.

การเผยแพร่ข้อมูลบนสื่อออนไลน์มีลักษณะคงอยู่อย่างถาวรและสามารถเข้าถึงได้ตลอดเวลา เมื่อข้อความอันอาจเป็นการหมิ่นประมาทถูกเผยแพร่ผ่านแพลตฟอร์มดิจิทัล ปัญหาทางกฎหมายจึงเกิดขึ้นว่าควรเริ่มนับอายุความเมื่อใด เนื่องจากภายใต้หลักการเผยแพร่หลายครั้ง (Multiple Publication Rule) การเข้าถึงเนื้อหาแต่ละครั้งอาจถูกตีความว่าเป็นการกระทำความผิดใหม่ ส่งผลให้อายุความถูกขยายออกไปอย่างไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด ทำให้ผู้เผยแพร่ต้องเผชิญความเสี่ยงทางกฎหมายอย่างไม่มีกำหนด อันก่อให้เกิดผลกระทบเชิงยับยั้ง (chilling effect) ต่อเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็น และเกิดความไม่สมดุลระหว่างเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็นกับสิทธิในชื่อเสียงของบุคคล บทความวิจัยนี้ศึกษาวิเคราะห์มิติปัญหาทางกฎหมายว่าด้วยการกำหนดจุดเริ่มต้นการนับอายุความของความผิดฐานหมิ่นประมาทที่กระทำผ่านสื่อออนไลน์ โดยมีขอบเขตการศึกษาครอบคลุมถึงแนวคิดว่าด้วยการสร้างดุลยภาพระหว่างเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็นกับการคุ้มครองชื่อเสียง การตรวจสอบหลักเกณฑ์การนับอายุความตามประมวลกฎหมายอาญาและประมวลกฎหมายแพ่งและพาณิชย์ของไทย และการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบพัฒนาการ บรรทัดฐานคำพิพากษา และบทบัญญัติทางกฎหมายของประเทศอังกฤษและสหรัฐอเมริกาที่นำหลัก Single Publication Rule มาปรับใช้ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การปรับใช้หลักการนับอายุความแบบเดิมที่ถือว่าการเผยแพร่ซ้ำแต่ละครั้งเป็นความผิดใหม่ไม่สอดคล้องกับลักษณะของสื่อออนไลน์ และก่อให้เกิดภาระเกินสมควรแก่ผู้เผยแพร่ จึงควรนำหลัก Single Publication Rule มาใช้ โดยถือว่าการเผยแพร่เนื้อหาที่มีสาระสำคัญเดียวกันเป็นการกระทำเพียงครั้งเดียวและเริ่มนับอายุความนับแต่วันที่เผยแพร่ครั้งแรก เว้นแต่การเผยแพร่ครั้งหลังจะมีความแตกต่างอย่างมีนัยสำคัญจึงจะถือเป็นการเผยแพร่ใหม่ อย่างไรก็ดี การนำหลักดังกล่าวมาใช้ควรกำหนดรายละเอียดและกลไกทางกฎหมายเพิ่มเติม อาทิ การให้ดุลพินิจแก่ศาลในการขยายอายุความ การกำหนดขอบเขตระยะเวลาและการนับอายุความจากวันที่เผยแพร่ครั้งแรกให้ชัดเจน ตลอดจนมาตรการที่ใช้บังคับกับคลังข้อมูล แพลตฟอร์ม และผู้เผยแพร่ เพื่อสร้างความสมดุลระหว่างเสรีภาพในการแสดงความคิดเห็นกับสิทธิในชื่อเสียง ให้สอดคล้องกับบริบทของสังคมดิจิทัล

บทความนี้มุ่งศึกษาถึงการคุ้มครองสิทธิอนามัยเจริญพันธุ์ของสตรีและผู้มีความหลากหลายทางเพศในบริบทประเทศไทย ภายใต้พันธกรณีระหว่างประเทศด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน เช่น อนุสัญญาว่าด้วยการขจัดการเลือกปฏิบัติต่อสตรีในทุกรูปแบบ (CEDAW) หลักการยอกยาการ์ตา และเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนข้อที่ 5 ซึ่งต่างยืนยันถึงสิทธิในการเข้าถึงสุขภาพทางเพศและอนามัยเจริญพันธุ์อย่างเสมอภาคและปราศจากการเลือกปฏิบัติ จากการศึกษาพบว่า แม้ประเทศไทยจะมีความก้าวหน้าในเชิงกฎหมายและนโยบาย แต่ยังคงเผชิญอุปสรรคสำคัญ อาทิ อคติจากผู้ให้บริการ ความเหลื่อมล้ำทางเศรษฐกิจและภูมิศาสตร์ ตลอดจนข้อจำกัดทางกฎหมายที่ยังไม่สอดคล้องกับมาตรฐานสิทธิมนุษยชนสากล การศึกษาวิจัยนี้จึงมุ่งศึกษาพัฒนาการและปัญหาทางกฎหมายและนโยบายของประเทศไทยที่เกี่ยวข้อง เช่น การยุติการตั้งครรภ์ การขยายสิทธิประโยชน์ด้านการคุมกำเนิด การบริการอนามัยเจริญพันธุ์ รวมถึงสิทธิในการเข้าถึงบริการยาฮอร์โมนและการยืนยันเพศสภาพ โดยศึกษาเปรียบเทียบกับการคุ้มครองสิทธิอนามัยเจริญพันธุ์ในสหราชอาณาจักร เยอรมนี และอินเดีย อันเป็นตัวอย่างการพัฒนากลไกกฎหมายและนโยบายที่ช่วยลดความเหลื่อมล้ำและสร้างระบบบริการที่เป็นมิตร เพื่อยกระดับกลไกทางกฎหมายและนโยบายสาธารณะของไทยให้สามารถส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนสิทธิอนามัยเจริญพันธุ์เกิดขึ้นจริง ภายใต้พันธกรณีระหว่างประเทศด้านสิทธิมนุษยชน และบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนได้ต่อไป

Presumptive Feline Infectious Peritonitis-Associated Uveitis With Posterior Segment Mass-Like Lesions On Ultrasonography, Hyun-Wook Kim, Danbee Kwon, Joon Young Kim

The Thai Journal of Veterinary Medicine

5-year-old neutered male domestic shorthair cat was presented with unilateral anterior uveitis and ocular pain in the left eye without systemic signs. Ophthalmic examination revealed a superficial corneal ulcer, keratic precipitates, and aqueous flare. Ocular ultrasonography identified ciliary body thickening and a nodular mass-like lesion posterior to the ciliary body. Despite systemic corticosteroid treatment after corneal ulcer healing, no clinical improvement was observed. Computed tomography revealed contrast-enhancing thickening of the ciliary body and uveoscleral region. Enucleation and histopathology demonstrated pyogranulomatous inflammation without evidence of neoplasia or detectable infectious organisms. Immunohistochemistry for feline coronavirus antigen was not performed at that time. …

This study aimed to examine the expression of follicle stimulating hormone receptor (FSHR) and luteinizing hormone receptor (LHR) in the testes of male fattening pigs based on the timing of the first immunocastration dose. A total of 24 male pigs were randomly assigned to 3 groups: C (n=8) consisted of only intact pigs, T1 (n=8) contained those immunocastrated at 15 and 19 weeks of age, and T2 (n=8) was composed of those immunocastrated at 9 and 19 weeks of age. This article aims to analyze and position the relationship between literacy and competency in the context of Thai education. It employs conceptual analysis and purposive document synthesis based on relevant international and Thai frameworks, including PIAAC, PISA/OECD, UNESCO, ACRL, the Council of the European Union, DigComp, UNESCO-UNEVOC, PISA Thailand, and CBE Thailand materials on core competencies and learning assessment. The analysis indicates that literacy and competency are related but cannot be used interchangeably. Literacy emphasizes domain-specific abilities to understand, evaluate, use, create, or communicate texts, data, media, symbols, or information in meaningful contexts. This qualitative study explores teacher resilience, professional engagement, and informal leadership in community-led schools located in conflict-affected areas of Myanmar. The study draws on two online focus group discussions with 14 high school teachers selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a semi-structured focus group discussion protocol. The discussions were conducted in the Myanmar language, and the data were analyzed using inductive thematic analysis. The findings indicate that teachers sustain resilience through moral purpose, professional commitment, and strong relational ties with students, peers, and local communities. Background: Body mass index (BMI) screening is commonly used in schools to identify students at risk of overweight or obesity, but BMI alone may not adequately guide counselling when students’ perceived weight differs from BMI-based status.

Method: This cross-sectional secondary analysis used 2023 US Youth Risk Behavior Survey data from 17,814 students in grades 9–12. Survey-weighted estimates and logistic regression examined overweight or obesity, underestimation among students with overweight or obesity, and excessive concern among students without overweight or obesity.

Background: Developing a nursing service system to promote rehabilitation among individuals with chronic mental health conditions is essential for maintaining self-care and social functioning. This study examined the effectiveness of the BUU True Friends mobile application (mHealth) in enhancing rehabilitation and reducing relapse risk.

Background: The global aging trend has accelerated. This study tried to identify the factors related to different patterns of physical and cognitive leisure activities among Chinese middle-aged and older adults.

Method: Latent Profile Analysis was conducted to classify 12,480 participants aged 45 and above, followed by logistic regression to understand associations between activity profiles and related factors.

Background: Diphtheria remains endemic in parts of Thailand and continues to threaten unvaccinated populations. To strengthen vaccine self-sufficiency, the Government Pharmaceutical Organization has developed in-house diphtheria–tetanus–pertussis (DTP) and diphtheria– tetanus (dT) vaccines. Potency testing of diphtheria toxoid is traditionally performed in guinea pigs; however, limitations in animal availability, cost, and logistics have prompted evaluation of alternative models.
