Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant global health issue, contributing to substantial mortality annually; therefore, effective risk stratification is essential for clinical decision-making and optimal resource allocation. This study externally validates a simple mortality prediction score for TB patients that was initially developed by Saisudjarit and colleague in a different population.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted using TB registry data from four Thai provinces (Nakhon Sawan, Kamphaeng Phet, Chai Nat, and Uthai Thani) collected January 1, 2019–December 31, 2020. Background: Esophageal cancer (EC) is a major global health concern due to its high fatality rate. Although Thailand reports a relatively low incidence, the disease’s prevalence has increased over the past decade. This study aimed to evaluate survival time and identify factors associated with mortality among EC patients.
Methods: A hospital-based cohort study was conducted at the tertiary hospital in northeastern, Thailand, including 101 EC patients diagnosed between 2006 and 2015. Subjects were followed for six months. Clinical data were retrospectively collected from medical records and the Cancer Registry. Background: A cross-sectional study was conducted at a primary care unit and general practitioner clinic in a tertiary teaching hospital in Hat Yai, Songkhla, Thailand, to evaluate the effect of hand grip strength on maintaining oral hygiene in older adults.
Method: Participants completed a questionnaire, performed a brushing task on a force-sensor–equipped dental model, and had plaque stained before brushing while being video recorded. The primary outcome was plaque removal performance. Multivariable logistic regression identified factors associated with inadequate plaque removal, and sex-specific grip strength cut-off points were determined using receiver operating characteristic analysis.

Camels are vital livestock in arid regions, yet their elemental exposure remains underexplored, particularly through non-invasive biomarkers. This study is novel in applying camel hair as a non-invasive, long-term biomarker to assess nutritional adequacy and environmental exposure in a free-grazing desert herd, with age-stratified evaluation of essential and toxic element accumulation. For this purpose, a cross-sectional study was conducted on a herd of 18 apparently healthy camels (≤6 months: 28%; >6 months: 72%). The SYBR Green real-time PCR was developed for the rapid and accurate classification of major venomous snakes in Thailand. The method relies on melting temperature (Tm) discrimination of target genes from mitochondrial ribosomes. Short single-stranded primers were designed to specifically amplify synthetic DNA of venomous snakes in a single reaction (singleplex), producing distinct melting peaks. Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are considered an entrance pathways for microplastic (MP) pollution in aquatic environments. This study reveals the removal and characteristics of MPs in wastewater from two municipal WWTPs in Indonesia. The influent contained 17.1 ± 5.65 particles L-1 (WWTP A) and 15.45 ± 4.31 particles L-1 (WWTP B), whereas the effluent contained 1.41 ± 0.01 and 1.5 ± 0.16 particles L-1. The removal efficiency was 91.75% for WWTP A and 90.32% for WWTP B, with no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05). Dengue infection remains a significant public health concern in Thailand, particularly among young populations. The emergence of COVID-19 introduced additional complexity to disease surveillance and control efforts. This study aimed to determine the spatial clustering and determinants of dengue incidence among individuals under 25 years of age in Northern Thailand during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ecological analysis was conducted across 103 districts in eight northern provinces. Urbanization in Thailand has significantly reduced natural infiltration surfaces, intensified stormwater runoff, and increased the demand for effective urban drainage solutions. Bioretention systems, guided by water-sensitive urban design (WSUD) principles, offer a promising approach for enhancing infiltration and mitigating urban flooding. However, the effectiveness of bioretention depends critically on the accurate estimation of saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks), a key input parameter in hydrological models such as the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM). This article examines the landscape of historical research in Thailand between 2013 and 2022 by analyzing academic articles, research projects, and theses that employ historical approaches. The study identifies three defining characteristics: a continued emphasis on Thai history, the increasing prominence of cultural history, and the significant influence of domestic contexts on research agendas. To explore ways of enhancing scholarly engagement, it conducts a comparative analysis of how leading international history journals frame research questions, engage with literature, and structure arguments. ในปัจจุบัน สถานการณ์อาชญากรรมรุนแรงที่กระทำโดยเด็กและเยาวชนมีแนวโน้มทวีความรุนแรงและเพิ่มสูงขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร ซึ่งนับเป็นพื้นที่ที่มีอัตราการก่ออาชญากรรมในระดับสูง การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทและหน้าที่ของเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจในกระบวนการบังคับใช้กฎหมาย รวมถึงปัญหาและอุปสรรคที่เกิดขึ้นในการปฏิบัติงาน ตลอดจนแนวทางการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการบังคับใช้กฎหมายต่อกลุ่มเด็กและเยาวชนผู้กระทำความผิดในคดีอาชญากรรมรุนแรง การวิจัยครั้งนี้ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative research) โดยมีเครื่องมือหลักในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล ได้แก่ การสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก (In-depth interview) กับผู้ให้ข้อมูลสำคัญ (Key informants) จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 13 คน ประกอบด้วย เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจ นักจิตวิทยา นักสังคมสงเคราะห์ และพนักงานอัยการ
ผลการวิจัยพบว่า เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจมีบทบาทครอบคลุมกระบวนการทุกขั้นตอน ได้แก่ การป้องกันการกระทำความผิดผ่านโครงการและกิจกรรมเชิงรุก การจับกุมโดยใช้มาตรการที่เหมาะสมกับสภาพจิตใจและพัฒนาการของเด็ก การควบคุมตัวในสถานที่แยกจากผู้กระทำความผิดที่เป็นผู้ใหญ่ และการสอบสวนแบบสหวิชาชีพร่วมกับนักจิตวิทยา นักสังคมสงเคราะห์ และพนักงานอัยการ อย่างไรก็ตาม การวิจัยพบปัญหาสำคัญหลายประการ อาทิ ช่องว่างของบทบัญญัติทางกฎหมายที่เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ใหญ่แสวงหาประโยชน์จากเด็กและเยาวชน ความซับซ้อนของกระบวนการและข้อจำกัดด้านระยะเวลา การขาดสมรรถนะและความเชี่ยวชาญของบุคลากร ภาวะการขาดแคลนกำลังพลเฉพาะทาง เป็นต้น

Strategic Engagement And Legal Pluralism : Navigating Knowledge And Expertise In Mining Disputes, Sara K. Phillips

This article explores how community and civil society actors in mining conflicts strategically engage with legal and technical vocabularies to assert legitimacy, contest exclusion, and influence mining governance. Drawing on an empirical case study of Thailand’s Chatree gold mine, the article analyzes how affected groups navigate overlapping normative systems, such as state law, transnational norms, and technocratic discourses, through informal learning and strategic appropriation of expert language. Framed through the conceptual lens of legal pluralism, the study highlights how actors interpret and mobilize diverse normative orders to articulate grievances, shape narratives, and attempt to gain access to decision-making spaces. This study highlights the green synthesis of CuO nanoparticles using coconut coir extract and evaluates their photocatalytic performance in the degradation of the Brown G dye. The CuO nano-particles were synthesised through sol-gel method, and the biomolecules like polyphenols, tannins and flavonoids acted as reducing agents to stabilise the nanoparticles. The characterisation of these nanoparticles was carried out through XRD, FTIR and FESEM methods. The nanoparticles were used to degrade the dye Brown G under UV irradiation. This study investigates the influence of transition metal (Fe, Co, Mn) doping on the surface properties and in-vitro bioactivity of TiO2 nanowires. It aims to elucidate how transition-metal doping alters the surface behavior and biological response of TiO2 nanowires, enabling their potential use in biocompatible and magnetically responsive materials. Magnetic TiO2 nanowires doped with transition metals (Mx+/TiO2) were successfully prepared by a hydrothermal method using titanium dioxide in alkaline solution. The effectiveness of well-being environment assessment criteria for aging communities in diverse contexts, particularly in developing countries, remains underexplored. This study aimed to fill this gap by employing Thailand Well-Being Environment and Age-Friendly Communities criteria to assess the living environment of 15 low- and middle-income aging communities in Thailand and determine their well-being status. The results of the overall quantitative assessment showed an average score of 60.78/100. Findings indicated high scores in categories such as healthy food environment, community open space, community asset, and street lighting, indicating a strong foundation for the well-being of low- and middle-income communities. This study addressed knowledge gaps in Thai inclusive education research and proposed strategies for improvement, with three key objectives: (1) synthesize and compare research on inclusive education across urban and rural universities; (2) analyze the topic trends in international inclusive education research; and (3) propose strategic guidelines for promoting inclusive education in Thailand. This study investigates the factors that influence international labor migration from Timor-Leste, with a focus on South Korea under the Employment Permit System. An extended gravity model was employed using bilateral migration data for 29 destination countries from 2000 to 2024 to assess the impact of economic size, geographic distance, trade relations, and migration policy regimes on migration flows. Migration is significantly influenced by political factors, such as formal recruitment channels and visa availability, and a positive correlation is observed between migration arrangements and bilateral exports. This study investigates how Indonesian architects navigate between global green building rating tools (GBRTs) and context-specific design strategies across different project types and scales. Using a comparative analysis of sixteen award-winning projects by six Indonesian architects, the research combines semi-structured interviews with document review and inductive coding to map design logics against core GBRT categories. Following Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology and PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines, a comprehensive search of six electronic databases yielded 30 included studies spanning four clinical domains: psychological and mental health, neurological and motor rehabilitation, aging and cognitive care, and acute care and symptom management. Studies employed four primary technology categories: mobile applications, artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, wearable biosensors, and alternative interface platforms. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of human trafficking involving Malaysians in Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on Cambodia, Thailand, and Myanmar. Employing a systematic review approach based on the PRISMA methodology, the study examines 63 news records from The Star, covering the period from March to September 2022. The findings reveal a notable increase in media coverage during this time, signaling heightened awareness of Malaysian human trafficking issues. This study employs Critical Participatory Action Research (CPAR) to examine the adaptive revitalization of local music and performing arts in Salaya's post-pandemic transition. Through the Collaborative Cultural Action Network (CCAN – comprising artists, academics, administrators, and citizens – the research facilitates a collaborative ecosystem for cultural asset co-creation. Implementation operates across two levels: strategic management of intersubjective agreements, and artistic creativity via a dual-track strategy. This study examines the role of public art towards urban regeneration, cultural preservation, and socio-economic development, addressing critical challenges in the Nigerian public art sector. It adopts a qualitative research design based on literature review, and Eisenhardt’s theory-building approach, drawing on secondary data to generate insights from case-based analysis. Two contemporary Nigerian public art initiatives were examined using within-case and cross-case thematic analysis. This article examines drama therapy with older adults across three institutional contexts in Thailand: Chulalongkorn Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society; Kwong Siew Foundation Hospital; and Sawangkanives Housing, Thai Red Cross Society. Drawing on a practice-based qualitative study involving 60 older adults, facilitator observations, semi-structured interviews, reflective writings, and institutional descriptions, the article explores how drama therapy was adapted across medical, chronic-care, and senior residential settings. The findings suggest that drama therapy supported memory sharing, emotional expression, social connection, belonging, and quality of life among participants. วัตถุประสงค์ : เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงต่อความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแล หอผู้ป่วยเด็ก โรงพยาบาลศิครินทร์ กรุงเทพมหานคร
แบบแผนงานวิจัย : การวิจัยแบบกึ่งทดลอง แบบศึกษาสองกลุ่มวัดครั้งเดียว
วิธีดำเนินการวิจัย : กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้ดูแลอายุ 20 ปีขึ้นไป ที่รับผิดชอบดูแลผู้ป่วยเด็กที่มีอาการสำคัญในการมาโรงพยาบาลด้วยมีไข้สูง อุณหภูมิกายมากกว่า 38.5 องศาเซลเซียส ซึ่งเป็นอุณหภูมิแรกรับที่รับผู้ป่วยเข้ารับการรักษาตัวในหอผู้ป่วยเด็ก แบ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง และกลุ่มควบคุม กลุ่มละ 24 คน กลุ่มทดลองได้รับโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงตามแนวคิดการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้ดูแลร่วมกับการทบทวนวรรณกรรม กลุ่มควบคุมได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลทั่วไปของผู้ดูแลและของเด็กที่มีไข้สูง แบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแลต่อการพยาบาลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง โดยผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 3 คน มีค่าดัชนีความตรงตามเนื้อหาเท่ากับ 1 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา และสถิติทดสอบที
ผลการวิจัย : ค่าเฉลี่ยความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแลระหว่างกลุ่มที่ได้รับโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง สูงกว่ากลุ่มที่ได้รับการพยาบาลตามปกติอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 (t = 5.182)
สรุป : โปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูง ส่งผลให้ผู้ดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงเกิดความพึงพอใจสูงขึ้น ผู้บริหารการพยาบาล ควรนำโปรแกรมการมีส่วนร่วมในการดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงนี้ไปอบรมพยาบาลเด็ก เพื่อนำไปสอนญาติหรือผู้ดูแลเด็กที่มีไข้สูงได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ
