Park Ridge, IL: Lutheran General Health System. This 1994 document reprints 1972 papers on governance and philosophy written by Dr. Frederic M. Norstad, who held leadership roles in pastoral care and program development at Lutheran General Hospital in the 1960s and 1970s. Dr. Norstad was "instrumental in the development of a treatment philosophy called Human Ecology, which was revolutionary in the late 1950s".

Leadership throughout the years included Naurice Nesset, Frederic Norstad, Theodor Jacobsen, Alexander Ruggie, George Caldwell, Roger Hunt, Kevin Wardell, and Stephen Ummel.
