The Time-Locked Gift Tag: Qr- And Nfc-Addressed Gift Labels With Scheduled Reveal Of The Message, The Sender And A Pledge Of Time, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
We specify a QR- or NFC-addressed physical gift label that replaces a handwritten gift tag with a scanned, time-locked reveal: the sender, recipient and message fields are each independently sealed and released at a chosen date or occasion. Scanned before that moment, a web page shows the structure of the gift (which sealed fields exist, with a countdown) but not their content; re-scanning the label at or after the moment unlocks the fields without an app install. Beside the message, the label carries a pledge of the giver's own time to the recipient, rendered as an offer of presence with …
Decided By No One: Publicly Verifiable Random Selection And Round-Robin Rotation From A Committed Roster And A Public Randomness Beacon, With A Time-Locked Sealed Regime, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure specifies a publicly verifiable random selection method for allocating turns and oversubscribed admissions. The output is a pure function of inputs committed before the seed can be known (a frozen roster, a salt and the algorithm version, bound into a hash commitment on an append-only, externally timestamped log) and of a seed taken from a named future round of a threshold public randomness beacon, so anyone holding the disclosed inputs can recompute the result.
Two forms share one keyed shuffle. The turn form deals every roster member exactly once per round in an unpredictable order, records an absence …
Provenance-Carrying Retrieval: Hash, Timestamp And Source Binding For Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Thon Ly
Provenance-Carrying Retrieval: Hash, Timestamp And Source Binding For Retrieval-Augmented Generation, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
We specify a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) response format in which every document a retrieval server returns to a language model carries a provenance envelope binding the served text to a cryptographic hash of a named, fetchable source file, at least one timestamp independent of the server (an RFC 3161 time-stamp authority, an OpenTimestamps Bitcoin anchor, or a transparency log), and, where available, a persistent identifier (DOI). The envelope also carries a scope statement declaring what the hash covers relative to the served text (whole source, excerpt, or derived rendering), an explicit "no anchor" statement rather than silence when none exists, …
Subject-Released Attestation: A Market Design In Which The Operator Cannot Answer, Thon Ly
Subject-Released Attestation: A Market Design In Which The Operator Cannot Answer, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
We specify subject-released attestation: a market where a third party pays to ask a binary question about a person, the person is paid for permitting it, and the record's operator sells only its vouching. The defining property is negative — the operator cannot structurally answer about a named person alone — making an institution's refusal to sell personal records a fact about the machinery, not a promise about its management. This paper contributes the market rules deciding what that inability sells, and to whom.
Five rules constitute it: (1) the two-good split — release and vouching separately owned, neither party …
The Gratitude-Riding Currency Tag: Qr And Nfc Markers On Circulating Banknotes For Tracking And Voluntary Tipping, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
We specify a scannable tag (QR code or NFC tag) carried on a circulating banknote so that a tip's thank-you message travels with the cash: gratitude metadata attached to physical currency rather than to a transaction record. A giver leaving a tip stamps or affixes the mark on a lowest-denomination note; any later holder scans it in a mobile browser to read the accumulated messages (text, photo, video or voice), add their own, and pass the note onward, so the note's ordinary circulation is the distribution channel.
The disclosure specifies: a physical mark bearing no words, brand or advertisement, only …
The Reciters' Protocol: Content Integrity Verification, Completeness Manifests And Variant-Preserving Text Retrieval Transposed From Oral Canon Transmission, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
This disclosure specifies content integrity verification and provenance mechanisms for text retrieval systems that serve quoted passages to machine readers, transposed from a multi-recension oral canon transmitted for roughly two millennia without an authoritative copy (the Pāli Buddhist canon).
A conformance endpoint accepts a claimed quotation, compares it with the served multi-recension corpus, and returns one of a closed set of dispositions on the claim, including a conforming variant with its witness, each paired with a prescribed next action and by construction none on the claimant; closed disposition sets are anticipated by OCSP; the composition is disclosed. A separated completeness …
Whose Turn, Not Who's Best: Round-Robin Rotation Over A Boolean Liveness Predicate For Unranked Local Business Discovery, Thon Ly
Defensive Publications Series
We specify an unranked local-business discovery system in which candidates are ordered by a publicly verifiable round-robin rotation (algorithm, per-cycle seed and recomputation tool published) and admitted by a boolean activity predicate instead of a ranking score. Admission asks only whether a participant's account balance has returned to zero within one published, global time window; amplitude and volume are excluded, so admission is a rate that cannot be accumulated or purchased. The discovery turn belongs to the payer, not the merchant: candidates are presented when a user spends from a forward-only, locality-restricted gratuity account, so the system has no merchant-facing …

Timing-Aware Path Computation And Clock Selection For Ptp In Sr-Mpls And Srv6 Based Networks Using Flex-Algo, Anonymous
Defensive Publications Series
Disclosed is a framework for timing-aware path computation and clock source selection for Precision Time Protocol transport in Segment Routing networks. New IS-IS node and link sub-TLVs advertise timing quality into the routing control plane, the node sub-TLV carrying constant time error, telecom clock type, and clock class, and the link sub-TLV carrying packet delay variation. A dedicated Flexible Algorithm instance for PTP backhaul uses cumulative constant time error as its optimization metric and excludes any link whose packet delay variation exceeds a configured threshold. A prefix segment identifier or SRv6 locator mapped to that algorithm, anchored on the grandmaster …
Automatic Discovery And Refinement Of Tool Catalogs From Conversational Data, Joshua Huang, Steve Yuan, Bryan Horling, Mahdi Zafarmand
Automatic Discovery And Refinement Of Tool Catalogs From Conversational Data, Joshua Huang, Steve Yuan, Bryan Horling, Mahdi Zafarmand
Defensive Publications Series
Systems and methods are described for generating a tool catalog for conversational agents from historical conversation data, which can address challenges associated with manual catalog creation. The described technology can use a multi-stage process that may begin with a discovery engine, which could leverage a large language model, to analyze conversations and extract potential tools with their respective inputs and outputs. A subsequent refinement stage can employ a critic-actor architecture to iteratively identify and address potential logical issues in the extracted catalog, such as duplicate functions or unresolved parameter dependencies. This process can result in a dependency-aware tool catalog with …
Tranche-Based Datacenter Deployment Using Temporary Life-Safety Barriers And Secure Access Tunnels, N/A
Tranche-Based Datacenter Deployment Using Temporary Life-Safety Barriers And Secure Access Tunnels, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
A large multi-row data hall is divided, both logically and physically, into tranches. The tranches are bounded by temporary barriers that separate an active tranche serving customers from an adjacent construction tranche inside the same hall. Each tranche receives its own electrical lineup and cooling capacity, built to production standards. The delivered tranche maintains full life safety and security, while the remaining unfinished spaces operate under relaxed requirements, so capacity reaches the customer in proportion to build progress rather than only after the full hall is complete. The temporary barriers incorporate penetration panels that pass cable tray, piping, and other …
System And Method For Asynchronous Network Simulation Telemetry, Topological Environment Remediation, And Generative State-Machine Security, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
An automated, state-aware network orchestration and evaluation platform provides asynchronous security exercise assessment and environment management. The platform initializes isolated virtual guest environments by executing guest agent software that dynamically generates unique boot-time cryptographic artifacts and sends them to a centralized evaluation engine to dynamically compile a grading rubric. User submissions are evaluated using a dual-pipeline generative language model configured with a strict schema contract that concurrently determines semantic equivalence and detects structural anomalies or prompt injection attempts. Trainee progression across simulation objectives is tracked using a topological directed acyclic graph that triggers automated hypervisor commands to mutate guest environment …
An Experimental-Verification Program For The Corpus Mechanisms Of The Register Of Anticipated Ai Failure Modes, Volodymyr Kotegov
An Experimental-Verification Program For The Corpus Mechanisms Of The Register Of Anticipated Ai Failure Modes, Volodymyr Kotegov
Defensive Publications Series
Companion document to the Register of Anticipated AI Failure Modes.
Purpose: to turn each of the register's 12 domains from a general statement that "experimental verification is needed" into a concrete, honestly bounded plan — stating what is testable now, by what means, at what stage, and what is categorically not testable by a small group at present.
Program design: (1) each proposed experiment carries an explicit evidence-class label, separating results that can move a domain’s Mapping status from results that only confirm a mechanism’s internal logic in isolation; (2) Phase 0 is limited to the one item in this …
Register Of Anticipated Ai Failure Modes, Volodymyr Kotegov
Register Of Anticipated Ai Failure Modes, Volodymyr Kotegov
Defensive Publications Series
This register collects twelve classes of AI failure that are documented today, in published research or in reproducible experiments, at a level of generality above any single system in the author's corpus. It exists because the author's own architecture documents — Verifiable Trust, the Charter of Procedural Standing, GVAA, BRAA, Physical Oracles, and the Local Multi-Scale Contour specification — each address a subset of these failure classes from within their own scope, and no one of them shows how the classes interact across system boundaries.
The existence of this register reduces the probability that a failure class is simply forgotten. …

Real-Time Predator Detection And Child-Centered Intervention In Multi-Platform Messaging: A System Architecture, Aubrey L. Douglas
Real-Time Predator Detection And Child-Centered Intervention In Multi-Platform Messaging: A System Architecture, Aubrey L. Douglas
Defensive Publications Series
We describe a system for detecting adult predatory behavior directed at minor users across five mobile messaging platforms (Discord, Instagram, Snapchat, SMS/MMS, Roblox) via on-device passive capture on the minor's own Android device. The system introduces three novel techniques not previously documented in either academic literature or commercial parental-monitoring products: (1) cross-platform stylometric fingerprinting that links blocked adult accounts to newly-created accounts by writing style rather than platform identifiers; (2) in-context grooming pedagogy delivering real-time named-tactic warnings to the child at the moment of manipulation, using non-punitive framing and one-tap protective action; and (3) three-stream ingestion with concealment-as-evidence semantics, where …

No existing platform on Earth performs more than two of these five functions. The closest analogs — China's HiCloud Shanghai UDC (24 MW, May 2026), Panthalassa Ocean-3 (wave-powered, $1B valuation), Seatrium/Mocean 30 MW FDC, …
Dynamic Exposure Weighting Based On Motion Heat Map Analysis, Adam Grant Mccauley
Dynamic Exposure Weighting Based On Motion Heat Map Analysis, Adam Grant Mccauley
Defensive Publications Series
Proposed herein is a motion-adaptive automatic exposure (AE) system that dynamically reshapes an image signal processor (ISP) weighting table using aggregate motion heat maps. Motion data accumulated over a configurable temporal window identifies high-activity regions, such as roadways or crosswalks, and converts those regions into higher exposure weights, while static regions such as sky or water receive lower weights. A minimum baseline weight remains in low-activity regions to preserve forensic visibility if an unexpected event occurs. Unlike center-weighted, spot, matrix, or object-detection-based metering, the system learns where activity occurs without requiring classification of a person, vehicle, package, or other object. …
Analysis Of Factors Affecting Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Performance In Private Hospital “X” Surabaya, Yuliana Yuliana, Dewi Sri Surya Wuisan
Analysis Of Factors Affecting Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Performance In Private Hospital “X” Surabaya, Yuliana Yuliana, Dewi Sri Surya Wuisan
International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR)
This study investigates the effect of six key factors on pharmaceutical supply chain performance (PSCP) at Private Hospital “X” in Surabaya: inventory level control, demand forecasting, supply chain flexibility, supply chain integration, supply chain visibility, and information sharing. A quantitative approach was applied using a questionnaire survey in April 2025, with 187 medical and non-medical staff meeting the inclusion criteria. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), complemented by Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA) and Prediction-Oriented Segmentation (PLS-POS). Results show that all factors positively and significantly influence PSCP (p < 0.05), with inventory level control being the most dominant (β = 0.336), followed by supply chain visibility (β = 0.224). IPMA identifies inventory level control and demand forecasting as high importance–high performance, while supply chain visibility shows high performance but lower perceived importance. These findings align with the Resource-Based View (RBV), highlighting the strategic value of integrated internal resource management. The study recommends enhancing pharmaceutical supply chain systems to improve hospital efficiency, adaptability, and sustainability.

Modeling Urban Heat Island Mitigation Strategies In Egyptian Cities Using Envi-Met, Islam M. Gaber, Abbas M. Hassan, Tarek Elkashef, Ola A. Gad, Ahmed M. Abdo, Abdelrazek Elkomy
HBRC Journal
Mitigation techniques for urban heat islands (UHI) have emerged as a critical concern for global urban environmental sustainability. Passive cooling employing cool materials and/or urban greening has shown to be the most effective strategy for mitigating the impacts of UHI. This latter method, however, is relatively new in the literature of urban environmental studies, and research on it is still limited, particularly for cities in hot-dry climatic zones. This study aims to investigate the possibility of improving albedo rates and adopting urban greening measures, such as greening building roofs, roadways, and walkways, in several Egyptian cities located in various climatic …
Discourse Of Open Party Contestation In Jemaah Tarbiyah In Indonesia, Gili Argenti, Caroline Paskarina, Nani Darmayanti, Nandang Alamsah Deliarnoor
Discourse Of Open Party Contestation In Jemaah Tarbiyah In Indonesia, Gili Argenti, Caroline Paskarina, Nani Darmayanti, Nandang Alamsah Deliarnoor
Jurnal Wacana Politik
Factionalization in Indonesian political parties is commonly explained by elite rivalry, coalition choices, or clientelistic interests, leaving intra-party conflict over the meaning of ideology less well explained. This article asks how the discourse of an open party constructs and reveals ideological contestation within Jemaah Tarbiyah and how that contestation contributed to the emergence of the Gelora Indonesia Party. Using Teun A. van Dijk's critical discourse analysis (CDA), the study integrates textual analysis, social cognition, and social context. The empirical material consists of in-depth interviews with 20 purposively selected actors from PKS, GARBI, Gelora, and related Tarbiyah networks, together with party …
Fear, Threat, And Google Searches: Examining Ideological Shifts Using Big Data, Erin M. Cerasaro
Fear, Threat, And Google Searches: Examining Ideological Shifts Using Big Data, Erin M. Cerasaro
Master's Theses
In their review of research on factors that affect political conservatism, Jost et al. brought together research from several theoretical viewpoints. This produced a model of psychological needs and motives in individuals which react with stimuli that make them feel fearful and threatened (F/T), increasing adherence to conservative ideology. While some research supports these claims, evidence shows that in some contexts these variables increase ideological polarization overall, but may also have a greater impact on conservative attitudes specifically. Researchers have had difficulty in investigating these relationships in naturalistic settings due to an inability to manipulate events that precipitate this ideological …

Multi-Solution Ternary Grover’S Algorithm For Logic-Based Quantum Machine Learning With Pseudo-Kronecker Reed–Muller Form Minimization, Sophia Lee, Ali Al-Bayaty, Marek Perkowski
Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Publications and Presentations
Optimization problems in machine-learning (ML) applications can be computationally challenging for classical methods, particularly when they involve large, unstructured search spaces. Quantum computing offers a promising approach to combinatorial optimization by utilizing quantum superposition and amplitude amplification. This paper presents a new methodology using logic-based quantum machine learning (QML) as a complete framework for employing a multi-solution ternary Grover’s algorithm to minimize incomplete binary functions represented by Pseudo-Kronecker Reed–Muller (PKRO) expansions, consistent with Occam’s razor principle. Unlike previous quantum approaches based on Kronecker Reed–Muller (KRO) or fixed-polarity Reed–Muller (FPRM) representations, our work introduces the first Grover-based optimization framework for PKRO …
A Systematic Approach For Controlling Tem Sample Thicknesses, Monte Kozell
A Systematic Approach For Controlling Tem Sample Thicknesses, Monte Kozell
Physics Faculty Publications and Presentations
Historically, TEM prep has been an artisan craft without a systematic workflow that ensures quantified control over TEM sample thickness. Over- and under-thinning is a significant problem in the TEM prep process. A direct measurement process was demonstrated to control the final thickness of the TEM lamella. Final lamella thickness was controlled by directly measuring lamella thickness in real time using a 10–15 kV SEM while performing secondary electron imaging at the mill position, allowing for (human-mediated) closed-loop processing. We demonstrated the utility of this technique by systematically thinning five TEM samples to discretely target thicknesses ranging from 100 nm …

Poisonous Plant Research (PPR)
Lantana camara is a major invasive plant species in Zimbabwe. Its toxic effects pose a threat to livestock production, biodiversity, and development. A survey was carried out throughout the country to investigate the distribution of L. camara in Zimbabwe and assess the extent of its spread. Identification was done by toxicologists with the support of an experienced botanist from the National Herbarium of Zimbabwe. The location of the plants was identified using a portable Garmin eTrex® 10 Handheld GPS navigation device., and the coordinates were recorded. Quantum Geographic Information System (QGIS) was used to plot the map. L. camara was …
Identifying Barriers To Reporting Concerning Behaviors In A Public Secondary School, Will Durgin
Identifying Barriers To Reporting Concerning Behaviors In A Public Secondary School, Will Durgin
Graduate Student Dissertations, Theses, Capstones, and Portfolios
Threat assessment is an effective school safety practice that allows schools to identify concerning behavior and intervene before it reaches a crisis. Because this process often begins with a staff member recognizing and reporting a concern, this study examined how school staff interpret concerning behavior, understand their responsibility to report it, and what can make reporting more difficult.
The study used a two-phase action research design in a small, rural public school district in western New York. The first phase used a survey built around five behavior vignettes, while the second phase consisted of staff interviews.
Staff generally agreed when …

Survey Results Of Dnp Faculty To Guide Faculty Development Priorities At Two Large Universities, Gina C. Rowe, Deborah O'Briant
Survey Results Of Dnp Faculty To Guide Faculty Development Priorities At Two Large Universities, Gina C. Rowe, Deborah O'Briant
International Nursing Research Congress (INRC)
Since 2010, DNP programs in the U.S. have grown from 156 programs with almost 7000 students in 2010 to 394 programs with over 40,000 students in 2021.(1,2) This rapid growth in new DNP programs has resulted in considerable variability in DNP program structure and curricula (3,4). Many DNP and PhD prepared faculty do not feel confident in guiding DNP students to complete DNP scholarly projects and have expressed a need for more resource support and mentoring.(3,5) The primary purpose of the study was to create baseline data on faculty knowledge and learning needs to guide faculty development efforts for those …
Perceptions Of Ai Caring Behaviors Among University Students In Kenya And The United States, Rachel W. Kimani, Rose Maina
Perceptions Of Ai Caring Behaviors Among University Students In Kenya And The United States, Rachel W. Kimani, Rose Maina
International Nursing Research Congress (INRC)
As AI tools increasingly mediate health communication, questions arise about whether users perceive these systems as capable of relational behaviors such as caring, empathy, or emotional support.
