The Qualitative Report Conference

In this session I will describe and explain how creativity can be a good habit to nurture for the qualitative researcher. I will draw upon my experience in dance and in qualitative research to discuss the habits of observation, interviewing, writing, analyzing and disseminating research findings. Curiosity is a key component of working in the qualitative arena. In order to be creative and curious you have to prepare for it. By looking at exemplars in the arts, sciences and social sciences we can learn a great deal about becoming curious.

Using a business model to operate universities has serious consequences for universities. The Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) was designed for use in a wide range of clinical environments with staff that had no special training (Teasdale and Jennett 1974). Evidence (Waterhouse 2007 and 2008) suggests however that there are ongoing problems with the use of the GCS assessment, and the impact that this might have on patient outcome is unknown. Variations in practice have been found in all areas, including the neurological specialties wards, however the skill level of nursing staff in non neurological areas is concerning with inconsistency in practice.

Of course they do! But it is rarely that caves are purely made of air-filled. A variety of sediments accumulates in caves and can be preserved more or less intact for long periods of time (Palmer, 2007). Presence of sand and gravel and clay deposits, mineralization, faults and fractures, perched water in caves are the rules rather than the exception. The purpose of the study is to show that air-filled cavities do not always cause high resistivity anomalies due to the complex subsurface conditions, and they are sometimes are not separable as a cave anomaly from the surrounding rocks. The University of Malaya Art Museum (UMAM) was established in 1955 in Singapore. With Michael Sullivan, the lecturer in Art History as the curator, the role of UMAM then was that of a teaching museum to support the History of Art course. Throughout the years, the collection developed significantly. In 1959, the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur was established and there was a growing demand for two separate autonomous universities. Thus, in 1961, the campus in Kuala Lumpur became the University of Malaya and the one in Singapore became the University of Singapore. When the Bukit Timah campus ceased …
