Since 2021, SURFACE, Syracuse University’s institutional repository, has seen substantial growth in both content and commitment to long-term digital preservation. This progress is largely due to the Syracuse University Libraries’ investment in a dedicated three-person team focused on sustainability and development. As we face emerging technologies and AI, we question whether AI can replace human labor to reduce costs. Despite the financial appeal of cost-cutting, our presentation underscores the essential role of human labor. Through community-focused outreach and technical advancements like mass minting DOIs and restructuring our platform, we have demonstrated the irreplaceable value of human involvement. To understand the transition into adulthood, it is necessary to have a definition of what adulthood is. Prototype analysis methodology is used to build a definition of a construct from the bottom up and assess whether the construct is structured prototypically in our minds (Fehr, 1988; Kearns & Fincham, 2004). The current study is Step 3 in the prototype analysis methodology. In Step 1, participants generated attributes of adulthood, and in Step 2, a new sample of participants rated the attributes for centrality. Linfield University Student Symposium: A Celebration of Scholarship and Creative Achievement

This internship opportunity allowed me to observe and participate in the day to day operations of a high school athletic trainer. This included teamwork and communication between our principal, athletic director, coaches, and student athletes, as well as being given the opportunity to refine my hard skills such as taping techniques and special tests evaluations. I was also given some freedom to take risks when assessing athletic injuries and using rehab modalities to get athletes ready to return to their sport. This research describes the conceptual development and insights from implementation of Partners for Algorithmic Literacy (PAL) - a groundbreaking student-faculty learning community model, facilitated by academic librarians, where undergraduates and instructors partner to co-design curricular plans integrating or interrogating AI in the classroom. In the fall of 2023 and 2024, two cohorts in this learning community were partnered. In weekly sessions, partners experimented with AI tools and engaged PAL’s novel Algorithmic Literacy Pedagogy Framework to guide their conversations and co-design process.

The 2025 Fiscal Year National Defense Authorization Act contains multiple provisions relating to artificial intelligence (AI). These congressionally mandated provisions direct various sections of the Department of Defense (DOD) and individual U.S. armed service branches to execute congressional intent for AI policymaking. Examples of such intent include identifying and planning DOD's AI workforce, demonstrating AI biotechnology applications for national security, improving the human usability of AI systems, and establishing an AI security center. A student angry about their grade, a peer not pulling their weight, a supervisor sharing criticism; all can trigger anxiety and stress. Human beings experience physiological responses to stressful encounters that inhibit our ability to communicate, problem solve and listen when it’s most important to do so. Targeted attacks, like active shooters incidents, are not spontaneous, sudden events which occur without warning. They are predictable and, consequently, preventable. Students, co-workers or others may exhibit risk factors or observable behaviors that would indicate they may be on the “pathway to violence.”

Alternative avenues of ovarian cancer treatment are needed: by combining type 2 diabetes drugs with an oncolytic virus, an antitumor agent capable of targeting, infecting, and killing tumor cells, while inducing an antitumor immune response; the proposed approach would fulfill this need and potentially offer ovarian cancer patients a new avenue for treatment.
