In addition, suggested changes for the annual survey conducted by ACRL to be implemented for the 2014-15 survey were presented. The digital age is changing the abilities and offerings of libraries of all types. However, there is still the notion that a physical place we call the library should exist. For most institutions that have had brick and mortar structures for decades (if not centuries), this dichotomy is fairly easy to navigate. However, what do you do when your library is only 6 years old? The presenters will describe the findings of a mixed-methods research study designed to explore students’ perspectives of skills and knowledge gained through engaging with older adults with physical and/or cognitive limitations living in a continuing care retirement community (CCRC). Participants in the study included students enrolled as juniors and seniors in a baccalaureate nursing program. Community partnerships with several CCRCs provided the opportunities for students to interact with elders. During the service-learning course, students developed and implemented evidence-based health promotion activities directed towards enhancing the elders’ cognitive, physical, and psychosocial functioning. When students role-play, their learning is personalized (Joyce & Calhoun, 2014). Add the challenge of finding compatible partners, and students are fully engaged as they infer the connections between themselves and their “dates”. Mix in the final element of limiting the opportunity to interact with potentially compatible partners, and students must quickly determine importance, synthesize, and then verbalize the details of their personas. Additionally, students must analyze their partner’s message to identify connections to their own, infer hidden identities, and describe their cognitive processes. A multi-tier architecture is under development (with similar craft heterogeneity to Fink's work on ‘tier scalable’ missions) which will facilitate autonomous local control of multiple heterogeneous craft. This mission architecture has been developed with a Mars mission in mind and has included CubeSats in a variety of critical mission roles.

Two concepts will be presented: the addition of CubeSats to a larger-scale multi-tier mission, where the CubeSats serve a supporting role and a mission driven by CubeSat orbital capabilities. Program evaluation is a major focus for the intersection of clinical care and fiscal responsibility. Collection of data over the first year of existence for a new program showed that needs were met for this health system. This data can be used by others to anticipate and gauge productivity and utilization for end of life care in the perinatal arena. Continued data collection is ongoing and shows even further growth of the service.
