Determinants Of Social Loneliness And Its Association With Negative Coping Styles, Mark Facey

The original study linked to this dataset argued that underlying antecedents of social loneliness maintain negative behaviour, whereby it becomes chronic and problematic. Four intrinsic antecedents of social loneliness are examined (Secure and Insecure Attachment, Emotional Regulation Problems – Expressive Suppression, Unclear Self-Concept, and Neuroticism) along with negative (Ignoring and Withdrawing) behavioural coping styles. Attachment type, Neuroticism, and to a lesser extent, Self-Concept Clarity, Expressive Suppression and Withdrawal coping styles may play an important role in averting or predicting Social Loneliness. Behaviourally, those who are higher in Social Loneliness, particularly young adult females, may adopt less Withdrawal coping styles once …

The data set contains seagrass soil carbon (blue carbon) characteristics for four sites in each of Thailand (Trang), Malaysia (Johor and Penang) and The Philippines (Roxas), and for six sites in Indonesia (North Minahasa and Sangihe Island). For each site, four seagrass cores (100 cm long) were collected and then sliced at 1 cm intervals for the top 5 cm and for 5 cm intervals thereafter. Every slice was analysed for dry bulk density and Loss on Ignition (Organic Matter). Approximately 26 slices per core were analysed for Organic Carbon (elemental analysis). The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the limitations in scientific and engineering understanding of applying germicidal UV to surfaces. This study combines surface characterization, viral retention, and the related UV dose response to evaluate the effectiveness of UV₂₅₄ as a viral inactivation technology on five surfaces: aluminum, ceramic, Formica laminate, PTFE (Teflon^TM), and stainless steel. Images of each surface were determined using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), which produced a detailed characterization of the surfaces at a nanometer scale. These data were collected for the purpose of determining potential ecological costs associated with a mitigation strategy used in shale gas development in the Appalachian basin. Collocation is the practice of siting new shale gas pipelines adjacent to existing surface disturbance such as forest roads to reduce habitat fragmentation and loss of core forest. These data result from spot mapping for species of songbird at paired forest road and shale gas corridors (expanded access roads collocated with pipelines) between May and July 2013 in north-central Pennsylvania, USA. How natural selection facilitates sexually dimorphic evolution despite a shared genome is unclear. The patrilineal inheritance of Y-chromosomes makes them an appealing solution. However, they have largely been dismissed due to their gene-poor, heterochromatic nature and because the additive genetic variation necessary for adaptive evolution is theoretically difficult to maintain. Further, previous empirical work has revealed only Y-linked sign epistatic variance segregating within populations, which can often impede adaptive evolution. This dataset contains a list of 149 Differentially Expressed Genes (DEGs) that were identified in two rice genotypes (Cypress and LaGrue) under control and High Night Temperature (HNT) conditions. The 149 up/down regulated genes are housed in the 15 rice QTLs for grain quality traits such as grain length (GL), grain width (GW), and percent chalkiness (%chalk) under control and HNT stress conditions.

Being the first to discover a resource can provide a competitive advantage (priority effect), even for an animal that is inferior in aggressive contests. Nicrophorus spp. (burying beetles) are known for caching a small vertebrate carcass as provision for their young, reducing volatile cues available to rivals by burying the carcass (vertical movement) and by altering the microbial community. A decomposing carcass, however, can leave cues (residues of decay) on soil and leaf litter that a burying beetle has less opportunity to neutralize. This study investigates the fresh and hardened-state properties of printing mixtures including different dosages of steel fibers, especially at higher dosages which have not been investigated before. This study also considers the effects of other parameters such as sand-to-powder ratio and the limestone content on the properties of steel fiber reinforced printing materials, to reduce the Portland cement content which has a high carbon footprint. The obtained experimental results revealed that high-performance materials incorporating up to 2.5% steel fibers (by volume) can be successfully 3D printed. This study aims to develop and evaluate UHP-ECC materials for 3DP applications. To achieve this, the rheological properties of the cementitious composites were designed to accommodate 3DP functionality. Additionally, this study aimed to evaluate the hardened properties of the 3D-printed UHP-ECCs and compare them to the cast UHP-ECCs. The VRS-F2 diploid population was produced by selfing a single F1 (16_9_2) developed from a cross between V. riparia Michx. (seed parent, ‘Manitoba 37’, PI#588289) and V. sp. ‘Seyval blanc’ (pollen parent, VIVC#11558) (Fennell et al., 2005).
