In the face of climate uncertainty, there is a need to understand how the success of current restoration efforts may be impacted in the future. Combinations of biochar and microbial soil amendments were used in a greenhouse study to quantify potential benefits for soil health, water quality, and tree growth parameters in post-mined soil. This dataset represents a comprehensive 6-month greenhouse experiment for shortleaf pine restoration with consideration to climate change under dry, average, and wet moisture regimes. Joint orientation measurements collected by KGS personnel at rock exposures from 2009 to 2024. New joint data was collected using a Brunton compass. This data set is a compilation of joints measured by Steve Martin. There are three worksheets related to data structure. The joint location and joint measurement worksheets show a 1-to-many relationship. The 1to1 worksheet shows a 1-to-1 relationship between joint locations and measurements.

Version 2 uploaded December 2024, adding new data to existing set.

Our team developed a database of 250 Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications useful for social science research. To be included in our database, the AI tool had to be useful for: 1) literature reviews, summaries, or writing, 2) data collection, analysis, or visualizations, or 3) research dissemination. In the database, we provide a name, description, and links to each of the AI tools that were current at the time of publication on September 29, 2023. The Physical Disability group collected social media data at the intersection of physical disability and sexuality as part of the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) Human Sexuality Summer Research Fellowship. For the purpose of this work, physical disability is defined as a self-disclosed disability which can include: impairments of the neuromusculoskeletal systems including, for example, the effects of paraplegia, quadriplegia, muscular dystrophy, neuromuscular disorders, cerebral palsy, absence or deformities of limbs, , arthritis, back disorders, bone formation or degeneration, and so on. Summer Sexuality Fellowship

The purpose of this data set is to investigate the experiences of parents, children, biological and non-biological family members when families are constructed in non-traditional ways. We address families constructed with known donors, in polyamourous and platonic family formations, families with step parents, and through adoption. Social Media posts between 2018 and 2023 were systematically collected from Reddit, Tiktok, Youtube, and Twitter. Data were collected by a team of collaborative researchers focusing on three topical areas: Donor conception, Adoption, and Mutli-Parent Families.

As part of the Sexuality Summer Research Fellowship organized and facilitated by the California Institute for Integral Studies, this dataset focuses on 2SLGBTQI+ experiences and perceptions of housing insecurity and homelessness. Summer Sexuality Fellowship

Abstract

During a ten-week Human Sexuality fellowship program, one of the focal areas was sex work, undertaken by an interdisciplinary team of graduate students and faculty. Employing an emergent design approach, this team used multiple iterations to refine their data collection process. Initially comprised of sixteen fellows, the Sex Work team sought to compile a comprehensive dataset encompassing various aspects of sex work, as broadly defined, across four social media platforms: Reddit, TikTok, Twitter (aka "X"), and YouTube. The Sex Work Databank eventually amassed nearly 6,000 data entries, with YouTube yielding the largest share.

With five years of funding from the National Science Foundation's Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM) program, John Carroll University (JCU) will provide scholarships to 32 students with demonstrated financial need and academic promise. The scholarships will be awarded to first-year and transfer students who are pursuing bachelor's degrees in STEM in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics. The Scholars in the program will receive academic support that includes a STEM-specific orientation, a summer bridge program, cohort advising, and curricula introducing scientific thinking and research.

This file contains the model input data for evaluating the influence of risk factors on the probability of obtaining a positive eDNA detection in sampled bait retailers of the Missouri River basin. Variables in the dataset include the bait retailer sampled, presence of signage, presence of non-advertised species, distance from a bait retailer to a recorded observation of bigheaded carp, detection of bigheaded carp eDNA in a bait retailer, state, and watershed.
