IP Aragorn LLC plans to develop a solar farm on a 1,765-acre tract on University Lands (UL) in Culberson County, Texas. In March and April 2018, Turpin and Sons Inc. (TAS) assessed the potential for significant cultural resources under the authority of Texas Antiquities Permit 8374 issued to UL, Aragorn and TAS with Jeff Turpin acting as Principal Investigator. The project area is a barren extent of interfluvial gypsum plain between the Rustler Hills on the east and the Delaware Mountains on the west. At the request of Trihydro Corporation, SWCA conducted a cultural resources investigation of the 3.2-mile (5.1 kilometer [km]) Green Valley Special Utility District (GVSUD) Weil Road Fill Line Project area (Project) located in the extra-territorial jurisdictions of the Cities of Santa Clara and Cibolo, Guadalupe County, Texas. The Project alignment traverses privately owned land and existing roadways between the Canyon Regional Water Authority (CRWA) Wagner Booster Pump Station at 1084 West FM 78 in Cibolo, and the GVSUD Booster Pump Station at Weil Road in Marion. North Texas Municipal Water District is proposing to build the Lower Bois d’Arc Creek Reservoir, northeast of Bonham in Fannin County, Texas. In 2011 and 2013, AR Consultants, Inc. conducted an intensive pedestrian survey of 30 percent of the proposed reservoir footprint (Davis et al. 2014). During the 2013 survey, one of the proposed high potential archaeological survey areas, (Q), crossed private property owned by Harold “Thump” Witcher. Parker County proposes to build the eastern segment of a loop north of the City of Weatherford, in Parker County, Texas). This portion of the loop, designated East Loop, is approximately 6.65 miles long. It begins at the intersection of the eastern terminus of the Ric Williamson Memorial Highway (or West Loop) at State Highway 51 north of the city. The proposed route continues eastward for approximately 4 miles, crosses Farm-to-Market 730 before turning south for approximately 2 miles, crosses US Highway 180 at Center Point Road, and follows Center Point Road to terminate at Interstate Highway 20.

The Trinity River Authority has proposed the construction of approximately 1.2 miles of 48-inch sewer line along Red Oak Creek in Ellis County, Texas. The proposed interceptor would extend from just east of Farm-to-Market Road 342/South Central Boulevard to the Red Oak Creek Regional Water System Plant in Red Oak, and would be constructed within a 100-foot-wide combined temporary and permanent easement. The entire line is proposed for open trenching, except at Shawnee Road near the north end of the project, where the pipeline will be bored. At the request of Matiraan, Ltd., Pape‐Dawson conducted an intensive archaeological survey with shovel testing and backhoe trenching of the proposed 37‐acre (15‐hectare [ha]) Casa Bella Estates residential development in compliance with the Historic Preservation and Design Section (Article 6 35‐360 to 35‐ 634) of the City of San Antonio (COSA) Unified Development Code (UDC). Based on the results of those investigations, the COSA Office of Historic Preservation (SA‐OHP) requested further work to mitigate the effects of the proposed development on a potentially significant archaeological site (41BX2131). Align proposes to construct a gas metering system adjacent to an existing pipeline corridor, encompassing a project area of approximately 0.25 acres in total. (B&A), on behalf of KMF Water LLC, at the request of Kimmeridge Energy, conducted an archeological survey within a portion of an Antiquities Conservation Grant Easement (ACGE) located within the Nicolls Tract in service of the Kimmeridge Energy Pipeline in Reeves County, Texas. North Texas Municipal Water District is planning the Plano Eastside Pipeline Replacement project in Collin County, Texas. The proposed project consists of replacing approximately 8,000 linear feet (2,438 meters) of waterline along the west side of Shiloh Road. Much of the line will be replaced within existing easements and in parking lots and entrances associated with commercial developments between Renner Road and 14th Street, and along Del Sol Drive. However, a few segments will require new easements. Collin College retained Terracon Consultants, Inc. to conduct a systematic, intensive pedestrian survey of the approximately 32-acre project area. The City of Temple has proposed the Kegley Road Improvements project where approximately 11,985 linear feet of Kegley Road, from Charter Oak Drive to Adams Avenue, will be expanded in southwest Temple, Bell County, Texas. The project engineer, Kasberg Patrick and Associates, LP, retained Terracon Consultants, Inc. to conduct a systematic, intensive pedestrian survey of the approximately 55-acre project area. Because the City of Temple, a political subdivision of the State of Texas, sponsored the project, the proposed undertaking is subject to compliance with the Antiquities Code of Texas and oversight from the Texas Historical Commission. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed undertaking would consist of 5.3 miles of roadway improvements and 1.1 miles of drainage easement for SH 332 between FM 521 and SH 288. This area is comprised of properties owned by the State of Texas (existing right-of-way [ROW]), as well as properties that are privately owned (proposed new ROW and easement). Blanton & Associates, Inc. conducted survey of portions of the project area of potential effects (APE) on behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation, Houston District.

On behalf of the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (Alamo RMA), Pape-Dawson conducted an intensive archaeological survey of a 2.53-kilometer (km) (1.57-mile) segment of North Foster Road in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. The proposed project will extend along North Foster Road from Interstate 10 (IH 10) to East Houston Street (Farm-to-Market [FM] Road 1346), and will include expanding the existing twolane road to a four-lane road, consisting of two 3.7-meter (m) (12-foot [ft]) travel lanes, with a 1.8-m (6- ft) shoulder in each direction. The Spradley site (41NA206) is a Native American archaeological site in the Bayou La Nana valley in Nacogdoches County in the East Texas Pineywoods. Bayou La Nana is a southward-flowing tributary to the Angelina River. The site is best known for its late 17th-early 18th century Historic Caddo period occupation, and the recovery of a number of European trade goods from habitation deposits, but the site was also occupied in Late Archaic (ca. 5000-2500 years B.P.), Woodland (ca. 2500-1150 years B.P.), and pre-A.D. 1400 Caddo periods. The Project includes newly proposed oil and gas well pads, crude oil pipeline, and associated access roads on City of Midland property in Midland and Glasscock Counties, Texas. These new components will be constructed within an existing upstream oil and gas system. The Nawi haia ina site (41RK170), translated as “Our mother dwells below” (Mooney 1896:1096) in the Caddo language, contains habitation features and midden deposits from an ancestral Caddo residential occupation, as well as a small and spatially discrete cemetery (Perttula and Nelson 2003). These deposits date, based on the OxCal calibration of 11 C14 dates, between cal. A.D. 990-1190, A.D. 1185-1270, and A.D. 1297-1410 for the midden area and the Feature 2 burial, and between cal. A.D. 1432-1527 (see Selden and Perttula 2013) for the two investigated burials in the cemetery. The small cemetery appears to be contemporaneous as well …

On 29 November 2017, Horizon Environmental Services, Inc. (Horizon) conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of the City of Laredo’s (City) proposed 13.0-acre Manadas Wastewater Treatment Plant Project in Laredo, Webb County, Texas (Project Area). To facilitate its construction, the City is pursuing federal funding through the Texas Water Development Board’s (TWDB) Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF). As these funds are ultimately federal monies issued by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the undertaking falls under the regulations of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966, as amended.
