(Horizon) to conduct a cultural resources survey and assessment for the proposed Galveston County Project. The project includes a proposed pipeline that will allow the delivery of natural gas to a new delivery point off the FGT mainline. Georgetown Independent School District (GISD) has proposed the Proposed Middle School project where school facilities will be constructed in western Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas. GISD retained Terracon Consultants, Inc. to conduct a systematic, intensive pedestrian survey of the approximately 31.4-acre project area. Because the GISD, a political subdivision of the State of Texas, sponsored the project, the proposed undertaking is subject to compliance with the Antiquities Code of Texas and oversight from the Texas Historical Commission (THC). Initially, the project spanned approximately 3.9-miles from State Highway 151 to United States Highway 90, in west San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. In 2014, Prewitt and Associates, Inc., performed data recovery excavations at site 41MS99 in Mason County for the Texas Department of Transportation, Environmental Affairs Division, under Texas Antiquities Permit No. 6876. The investigations were prompted by the planned construction of a bridge over Comanche Creek on the north edge of the City of Mason (CSJ No. 0914-26-006), in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and its implementing regulations (36 CFR Part 800) and the Antiquities Code of Texas.

The excavations consisted chiefly of 114 hand-dug units covering 113.6 m2 and accounting for 86.7 m3 of sediment. …

Work was conducted on behalf of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Environmental Affairs Division, under contract number 577XXSA001 (Work Authorization 57715SA001) and Texas Antiquities permit number 8585. Site 41SR459 was located during an archeological survey for the proposed construction of a new roadway, State Loop 195, and is located north of US-83 within Starr County, Texas. In 2003–2004, Prewitt and Associates, Inc., performed National Register of Historic Places testing and subsequent data recovery excavations at the Jayroe site (41HM51) in Hamilton County for the Texas Department of Transportation, Environmental Affairs Division, under Texas Antiquities Permit Nos. 3211 and 3405. The investigations were prompted by the planned replacement of the County Road 294 bridge at the Leon River (CSJ No. 0909-29-030), in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and its implementing regulations (36 CFR Part 800) and the Antiquities Code of Texas.

The Comal Independent School District (CISD) retained Pape-Dawson Engineers, Inc. (PapeDawson) to conduct cultural resource investigations for the proposed construction of a new high school (High School #4) near the city of Garden Ridge in southern Comal County, Texas. The CISD High School #4 Project (Project) includes construction of buildings, parking lots, roadways, and associated utility installation for the new school campus. After the identification of a State Antiquities Landmark (SAL)-eligible burned rock midden at site 41CM412 during the preliminary archaeological survey, a data recovery investigation was undertaken within this portion of the site.

Because the Project will take place on property owned by the University of Texas, a political subdivision of the State of Texas, it is subject to the Antiquities Code of Texas (Texas Natural Resources Code, Title 9, Chapter 191) and its associated regulations (13 TAC 26). In the summer of 2014 (June 2-July 3), SFA Archaeological Field School (ANT 440) was led by Dr. Leslie G. Cecil and had 13 students and three volunteers. The site selected was the Little Creek Community (41NA378) that was decimated by the floods of 1974. The site is approximately six acres it is under the Nacogdoches Banita Creek Park and Dog Park in Nacogdoches, TX. in area of which only 51 meters2 were excavated. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), conducted National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility testing of the Cornelio Alvarez Sr. site (41SR242) as part of the State Loop (SL) 195 project (Project) (CSJ: 3632-01-001) in Starr County, Texas. Subsequent to the field investigations, SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) conducted artifact analysis, reporting, and curation preparation for the multi-component historic and prehistoric site.
