For the purpose of this experiment the problem was defined as follows: graduate students at CWCE consist, in the main, of public school teachers and administrators. Their scores in the Cooperative English Test ranked them in the lower third compared with college seniors in representative teachers’ colleges in this country. It was determined that a means should be devised to find out if these test results were acceptable as conclusive evidence of ability.

The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the effectiveness of the demonstration method, as used in science on the elementary school level, in teaching the critical thinking ability; (2) whether a reliable testing device could be designed to measure critical thinking ability at the elementary school level; and (3) whether there exists a relationship between the mental ability of elementary school children and their ability to do critical thinking.

The purpose of this study has been to determine the effectiveness of the health instructional program in the secondary class B schools in the State of Washington. Through the survey technique, 119 schools were contacted and questioned in relation to: (1) the various methods of organizing health classes; (2) attitudes of the instructor toward teaching health; and (3) the college preparation of health instructors.

My purpose is to, first, state some philosophical positions of my own concerning preschoolers and preschool education. It was the purpose of this study (1) to obtain a cross-section analysis of the eleventh and twelfth grade teachers of literature in the state of Washington; (2) to discover the attitudes of these teaches as to why and how literature should be taught in grades eleven and twelve; (3) to learn how it is actually taught at theses grade levels; (4) to present and analyze these finding; (5) to ascertain which college courses these teachers felt had helped them the most in preparing to teach literature; and (6) to make suggestions that might help the prospective teachers of literature.

Because it seemed likely that teachers of adolescent Latter-day Saint boys and girls might benefit from an up-to-date view about what their students are personally concered, a need was felt for this particular kind of survey. A review of the related literature indicated a dearth of material in this area, particularly in connection with Latter-day Saint youth.
