Vertical Distributions Of Soil Microbial Biomass Carbon: A Global Dataset, Tingting Sun, Yugang Wang, Dafeng Hui, Xin Jing, Wenting Feng

Soil microbial biomass carbon (SMBC) is important in regulating soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics along soil profiles by mediating the decomposition and formation of SOC. The dataset (VDMBC) is about the vertical distributions of SOC, SMBC, and soil microbial quotient (SMQ = SMBC/SOC) and their relations to environmental factors across five continents. Data were collected from literature, with a total of 289 soil profiles and 1040 observations in different soil layers compiled. The associated environment data collectd include climate, ecosystem types, and edaphic factors. Fenomena perubahan iklim mempengaruhi distribusi hujan yang tidak merata. Kelebihan air hujan di lahan akan menyebabkan genangan air karena sistem drainase lahannya kurang baik yang berdampak terganggunya pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tebu. Dalam kondisi tergenang (G), jumlah anakan beberapa genotip tebu menurun bila dibandingkan dengan kondisi tanpa genangan (TG) pada 77 hari setelah penggenangan (HSP), kecuali genotip tebu GMP1. Jumlah anakan tersebut berkisar antara 6,7 untuk genotip KK sampai 10,3 anakan untuk genotip GMP1. Sedangkan pada kondisi tanpa genangan kisaran jumlah adalah 8 untuk genotip PS864 sampai 13,7 untuk genotip KK. Kondisi genangan air juga telah menurunkan nilai konduktansi stomata …

Snow-Albedo Feedback In Northern Alaska: How Vegetation Influences Snowmelt, Lucas C. Reckhaus
Theses and Dissertations
This paper investigates how the snow-albedo feedback mechanism of the arctic is changing in response to rising climate temperatures. Specifically, the interplay of vegetation and snowmelt, and how these two variables can be correlated. This has the potential to refine climate modelling of the spring transition season. Research was conducted at the ecoregion scale in northern Alaska from 2000 to 2020. Each ecoregion is defined by distinct topographic and ecological conditions, allowing for meaningful contrast between the patterns of spring albedo transition across surface conditions and vegetation types.
