"Don't keep giving us things!" was the passionate, slow, soft-spoken plea of Ralph Red Fox, a Cheyenne from Lame Deer, Montana. Fifty-two of the eighty black clergymen of the three major Lutheran church bodies met in Chicago, May 7 to 10, to discuss problems common to their ministry and evolve a strategy for helping the church through the years ahead.
After meeting in closed assembly for a day and a half, the pastors opened sessions to white church leaders to share concerns with them. On hand also for the consultation were the presidents of the ALC, Mo. Synod, and LCA, Doctors Schiotz, Harms and Fry.

Indonesia, potentially one of the richest and most powerful of the emerging nations, could profit by an active program in family-life education such as has proved beneficial in other parts of the world. This is especially true in the rural areas. It is the purpose or this paper to explore possibilities for and to develop an extension program in home improvement, sanitation, child care, and nutrition which could be set up at Indonesia Union College, located in a typical rural area of Java.
