Several issues have motivated reform in engineering education over the past decade. Industry’s call for more well-rounded graduates who are better equipped for today’s fast-moving, global economy has motivated the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) to redefine its accreditation criteria in a way that places professional skills such as teamwork, communication, and awareness of social issues into core engineering curricula.
