Assessing The Personal Needs And Professional Issues That Hinder Credentialed Women In The Ohio Ministry Network: Egalitarianism And The Image Of God, Deedra Ann Shilliday

The purpose of this study was to discover if some local Assemblies of God (A/G) church practices differed from the denominational egalitarian theology. Credentialed women from the Ohio Ministry Network (OMN), a district of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, were surveyed. According to the survey results, time management, representation at OMN events, ministry connections, and exclusion from the leadership pipeline are the greatest challenges for credentialed women. Marital Stability And Spiritual Growth: A Phenomenological Study On Christian Premarital Counseling, Angie M. Baker

The purpose of this phenomenological qualitative study was to examine the impact Christian premarital counseling (CPC) that use the Prepare/Enrich curriculum have on the couple's spiritual growth and overall marital stability. The following chapters emphasized the need to understand the long-term spiritual benefits and marital stability couples receive from attending CPC using the Prepare/Enrich curriculum. In this study, I interviewed ten couples to examine the spiritual benefits and marital stability couples received from attending CPC. The position of pastor’s wife presents itself as a unique role. For the African American Pastor’s wife, this role takes on an even more interesting dynamic, considering the cultural back drop of the population many pastor’s wives serve. A hermeneutic phenomenological research study was conducted to understand the phenomena of helper among African American pastor’s wives who serve alongside their husbands in ministry, particularly in pastoral care and counseling. The study included a total of seven African American Pastors’ wives from the state of Texas. The pastors’ wives participated in structured interviews that were extensive in nature. Religious Couples Re-Storying After Infidelity: Using Narrative Therapy Interventions With A Focus On Attachment, Mark Karris , M.A., M.Div., Katarena Arger , M.A

Counseling and Family Therapy Scholarship Review

Attachment-focused narrative interventions used with religious couples of the Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) dealing with the effects of infidelity is discussed in this article. With religious couples, the couple attachment bond is commonly harmed after infidelity. The attachment bond with God can also be affected with one or both partners. Partners who once felt close and connected with God can feel angry and distant because of infidelity. Since the Abrahamic faiths are narrative-based religions, and an attachment bond with God is essential, attachment-focused narrative interventions can help couples re-story their relationship with each other and with God.
