The Extent Of Primary Prevention Research In The Community Psychology Literature: A Content Analysis, Catherine Comeau
The Extent Of Primary Prevention Research In The Community Psychology Literature: A Content Analysis, Catherine Comeau
Theses and Dissertations (Comprehensive)
Previous research and opinion suggested that community psychology had not realized its 1960’s commitment to primary prevention. This thesis employs theoretically-oriented content analysis to investigate the extent of the specialization’s commitment to this issue as reflected in research published in three journals: American Journal of Community Psychology (1973-1978), Journal of Community Psychology (1976), Community Mental Health Journal (1966, 1976). The data suggests that approximately 50% of this periodical literature focuses on some aspect of primary prevention. The implications of these findings are discussed.

In October, 1969, the Highway Salvage Section of the Arizona State Museum conducted emergency salvage excavations in conjunction with the construction of the Tucson-Nogales Highway. Ten cremations were recovered from a backhoe trench which had been placed within the city limits of Nogales, Arizona. Analysis of the cremations indicated cultural contact between the Trincheras culture of Sonora, Mexico, and the Hohokam culture of the Santa Cruz River Valley in southern Arizona.

A Study Of The Administration Of Emergency Medical Services In San Joaquin County : Analysis And Recommendations, Roy Guity Nunez
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
This study examines the administration of emergency medical services (E.M.s.) in San Joaquin County. The analysis proposes to determine whether any serious inadequacies exist with the system as it is administered presently.
There were three major sources for this research. The legislations on E.M.S. (federal, state and local), and the writer's personal working participation (as a staff member of the San Joaquin Comprehensive Health Planning Association) in the development of plans in this substantive area, and as a "participant observant at the San Joaquin County General Hospital, (with the Social Services Department). The rather limited bibliography on the subject Has …

Stochastic Models In Circuit Network Growth, John D. Radke
Theses and Dissertations (Comprehensive)
To describe the spatial pattern of objects or events, and to explain that pattern by way of the causal mechanisms which have generated it, has been one of the traditional aims of geographical research (Harvey, 1967). One method that can be employed for such descriptions and explanations is network analysis.

A more appropriate definition for geographers would be, a set of geographic elements interconnected into a system by a number of relationships (Kansky, 1963). Network analysis is an examination of a complete network, its elements and their relationships. Networks …
