In the present discussion, taken from the point of view of a social worker, several reactions, ideas, and questions may be raised as a point of departure. One may, in fact, begin with the reference to the idea of subculture and its frequent misuse by social scientists. It seems reasonable that reference to deviant sub-culture often fails to take into account the fact that even deviant behavior may be structured and patterned according to the norms of the so-called majority.

A Survey Of Articles Pertaining To Education Appearing In Selected Non-Professional Magazines During The Five-Year Period 1953-1957, Gerald Eugene Dockum

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

There are very few people who are not earnestly interested in education, especially if they have children of their own enrolled in school. Nearly all of these people realize that the school is one of the most important agencies which exert an influence upon their children and which should provide them with the tools to develop for themselves a future of the type parents normally desire for their children. This, plus the fact that education is publicly-supported, makes a vast majority of the people of our country vitally interested in our system of public education.
