As one peers across the vistas of the past two types of holy men stand out with striking prominence and significance. The advance of religious thought and life has largely been due to the activities and contributions of these two, the priest and the prophet.

It has been the purpose of this research to seek to discover the particular functions of each of these, to show their correlation in producing religious advance, and to make certain suggestions as to how the values each has to contribute to the program of the modern Christian church may be more adequately realized.

The attempt to present a somewhat different point of new is the only excuse that may be offered for another treatment of the relation of reason to Christian faith. The peculiarity of the following discussion will be its assumption that Christianity is the true religion. It is in no sense a study of the philosophy of religion, which begins, for purposes of argument, with the notion that all religions are of equal merit. The 1926 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association took place at Kings Mountain Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. The introductory sermon was delivered by G. P. Abernathy. The Home Missions report mentioned providing interpreting services for deaf mutes to allow them to participate in church services. The Historian's Report provided details about the origin of the Association. The Boiling Springs High School Board of Trustees Report recommends that the school transition to a junior college. The Committee on Obituaries reports the passing of Rev. A.C. Irvin and Missionary G.P. Bostick.
