Graduate Thesis Collection
"The Quotations From the Septuagint in the Synoptic Gospels" is the result of a statement made in the Septuagint Class concerning the relation between the quotations of the Septuagint as found in the New Testament. An objective study ensued with the purpose of gathering together these quotations in a comparative study and a tabulation of the results.
Christian Education In The Family, Myrna I. Bertels
Christian Education In The Family, Myrna I. Bertels

It is the conviction of the writer that the world needs "the Way of Life," and that Jesus Christ is that Way;1 that the home is basic to society, and that the Church is the society whereby the Gospel is to be preached. Because of these convictions and the knowledge that the home is not centered around Christ, and that the Church has not yet realized its responsibility in providing more aid and leadership for family education, this paper has been inspired.

The Psychology Of Action Applied To Works And Faith, William Harold Neeriemer

The problem of works and faith -- A problem of long standing -- Will faith "alone" save? Or Works? -- Extremes on this issue lead to indifference -- The value of this study is the psychological approach -- It will support the tenets of the Reformation of the Nineteenth Century -- This study supports the combination of works and faith -- The believing man -- To him the combination is essential -- The study is psychological. not theological -- The plan of the study is (1) a definition of works, (2) a definition of faith, and (3) the application of …

The Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions (BCIM) was created in 1874 as the Office of the Commissioner for Catholic Indian Missions to protect, promote, and administer the Native American mission interests of the Catholic Church in the United States. Records in this group are organized by record group and then state or territory and year. Collection organization varies very little throughout the collection, however, prior to 1921, general correspondence was organized by location. Starting with Director Hughes, general correspondence was placed as its own subgroup within the collection and is organized alphabetically. Please go to Ask An Archivist if you …

Youth Work In A Rural Church, Verna Gertrude Palmer
Youth Work In A Rural Church, Verna Gertrude Palmer
Master's Theses
Youth work has been an important part of the activity of churches. Most of the studies about it and most of the programs for young people, however, seem to concern town and city churches more than rural churches.
It is my purpose in this paper to present a study of the work that is being done with and for young people in rural churches in Virginia. First a survey will be made of conditions which contribute to the problems of youth work in rural churches in general. Then the youth activities and problems of churches in Virginia will be considered. …

Aspects Of The Oecumenical Dilemna, William G. Baker
Aspects Of The Oecumenical Dilemna, William G. Baker
Graduate Thesis Collection
Views of the oecumenical movement range from an enthusiastic, if often shallow optimism, to a cautious, and sometimes bitter, suspicion. The thesis which I venture to offer is that only a radical emproach to oecumenicity can enable us to understand what is happening in this moment of Church history. Such a radical approach demands that we seek to understand the nature of human existence, the nature of the Church, and the nature of unitive activity within the Church.
