Recreation In The Church : An Analysis And A Prospectus, Lawton Delmar Harris
Recreation In The Church : An Analysis And A Prospectus, Lawton Delmar Harris
University of the Pacific Theses and Dissertations
In a measure, the thesis seeks to bring together a consideration of the program and problems from both the secular and religious viewpoints. The two are based upon the same psychological needs of humanity, but the two fields have become isolated in their fundamental approaches. The secular books barely mention the church and its programs. They have a tendency to regard the church as a "has-been.. in the field. They imply that the church should conduct "religious" services and leave recreation to the agencies. To this the writer cannot give agreement. On the other hand, many of the books written …

St. Augustine's Theology Of Grace, John Van Lierop
St. Augustine's Theology Of Grace, John Van Lierop
Master of Sacred Theology Thesis
As a result of my study it is my conv1·ction that Grace is the heart of the Gospel - and that with all the talk about Ecumenical Christianity today, I believe it will be hopeless to strive for one great "World Church" unless there is first an agreement and unity about the Theology of Grace, which is the foundation-stone of all Theology.

History Of Drama In Ogden, Beth Browning
History Of Drama In Ogden, Beth Browning
Theses and Dissertations
Many cultural histories have been written of Utah, but not one of Weber County. The purpose of this thesis is to develop the history of drama in Weber County. Particular interest is given to the stage and its evolution. Also, I include the outstanding leaders of this art, because they are the builders of this history. The hypothesis is that the present-day drama owes much to our pioneers of Weber County. This thesis is written in commemoration of these pioneers for our Centennial Year, 1947.
Spiritual Care Of Patients In Army Hospitals, George W. Kautz
Spiritual Care Of Patients In Army Hospitals, George W. Kautz
Bachelor of Divinity
Our Lutheran Church of the Missouri Synod through its Army and Navy Commission has fully recognized the great task of providing a spiritual ministry to the men in the armed forces. Therefore many Lutheran clergyman at the beginning of the war offered themselves cheerfully to preach Christ Crucified to these men who were about to die and to minister to them under every condition. The Army Chaplaincy offered the great opportunity to serve Christ and to minister to many blood-bought souls.

The Approach To The Unchurched, Earl Schmiesing
The Approach To The Unchurched, Earl Schmiesing
Bachelor of Divinity
If God really sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to be the Savior of all men, then the most pressing and urgent task of every Christian is to bring this message to the entire world. It is a Satanic paradox for the Christian who has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior to stand idly by while countless millions of souls about him are heedlessly rushing to eternal perdition. The mission of the Christian church rests upon certain facts clearly taught in the Scriptures.

An Analysis Of Twelve Speeches Of Parley Parker Pratt, Mormon Orator, Morris M. Clinger
An Analysis Of Twelve Speeches Of Parley Parker Pratt, Mormon Orator, Morris M. Clinger
Theses and Dissertations
The chief purpose of this investigation is to determine the elements of speech style, the motive appeals, and the use of the elements of interest which play the most characteristic roles in twelve of Parley P. Pratt's sermons. While all the speeches that Pratt delivered have not been studied, since there are likely hundreds of them of which we have no record, it is thought that this study is sufficiently broad to warrant the conclusions that the writer has drawn.
A brief biography is included as a part of this study that a better understanding of the man might be …

Mysticism In Roman Catholic Theology, Elmer William Matthias
Mysticism In Roman Catholic Theology, Elmer William Matthias
Bachelor of Divinity
The purpose of this paper is not to present an extensive survey of Catholic mysticism. The field is too broad to do that in a paper of this type. Only the salient features are mentioned with the view of presenting the fundamentals so that the working principles of mysticism are laid bare. With this object in mind the writer proceeded.

Pauline Teaching Of The Future, Bernard Wittrock
Pauline Teaching Of The Future, Bernard Wittrock
Master of Sacred Theology Thesis
This treatise on Paul's view of the future life is an exegetical study. The importance of such an exegetical study cannot be minimized; in a way it must take precedence over against the dogmatical approach. It has been aptly stated, "For all true dogmatics rests wholly on true exegesis; it is wholly dependent, never independent.”
