Hille, Kirk A. “Developing an Effective Divorce Recovery Ministry.” Doctor of Ministry. Major Applied Project, Concordia Seminary, 2017. 184 pp.

Building Construct Validity For A New Measure Of Christian Spiritual Maturity, Edward W. Watson, Angela L. Watson Mar 2017

Building Construct Validity For A New Measure Of Christian Spiritual Maturity, Edward W. Watson, Angela L. Watson

Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning for Christians in Higher Education

This study (N = 672) develops further a model of Christian spiritual maturity based upon two dimensions of Bernard of Clairvaux’s staircase of godly love: Step 2 (Loving God for Self’s Sake) (α ≥ .89) and Step 3 (Loving God for God’s Sake) (α ≥ .88). Data were collected in two waves: (a) undergraduates at a private Christian university in the Midwest (Watson, 2011) and (b) undergraduate theology majors, graduate students, and graduate professors from the same university. Principal axis factor analysis supported a two factor solution with low inter-factor correlations (r = .08). While mature volunteers were under-represented, significant …

Using Lost In Translation To Prepare Students For The Physical, Emotional And Spiritual Realities Of International Business, Ivan Filby Mar 2017

Using Lost In Translation To Prepare Students For The Physical, Emotional And Spiritual Realities Of International Business, Ivan Filby

Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning for Christians in Higher Education

Over the last 30 years, international business opportunities have become more widespread. This rise in global business opportunities has not gone unnoticed by missiologists, and the development of the Business as Mission (BAM) movement has introduced a new realm of possibilities of linking business and mission. One potential weakness of this model is that international business managers often do not receive any missiological or theological training. It is likely that they receive less prayer support, less in-the-field support, and probably weaker moral accountability. As a result, many may be unaware of the some of the difficulties that they may face …

People's Mysticism And Political Engagement: The Prophetic Character Of The Nazareno Image, Wilson Angelo G. Espiritu Mar 2017

People's Mysticism And Political Engagement: The Prophetic Character Of The Nazareno Image, Wilson Angelo G. Espiritu

Theology Department Faculty Publications

Millions of Filipino Catholics consider themselves as devotees of the Nazareno. It is a unique cultural facet of Filipino Catholicism being one of the deeply ingrained folk devotions in the country.
