The purpose of this study is to determine from the best information available the potential supply of labor available to present and prospective employers in the community composing the Omaha SMSA. In doing so certain well established trends provide the starting point. First is the basic long-term shift in the industry employment patterns of the United States. That is, with the long term industrialization of the U.S. economy that has been taking place since the Civil War, there has been a continuous shift from agricultural to nonagricultural employment. The Octofoil is the offical publication of the Ninth Infantry Division Association, Inc., an organization formed by the officers and men of the 9th Infantry Division in order to perpetuate the memory of fallen comrades, preserve the esprit de corps of the Division, promote peace and serve as an information bureau about the 9th Infantry Division. The Association is made up of 9th Infantry veterans from WWII and Vietnam, spouses, widows and lineal descendants.
