Two sections are added to my previous article with similar title, in relation to the so-called dynamic logic-error, other complications with modern mathematics and some details on the philosophy behind scene. These remarks could be seen as more details on the axioms of math-arguments and the actual basis-inspiration of the meta-math previously developed. In other words, this `continuation' gives the connection between (meta-)mathematics and the science of the creation-energy.
Beyond Intent: Teacher Capacity, Opportunity To Learn, And The Persistence Of Math Equity Gaps In Tennessee (2000-2025), Soso Dede
The Journal of the Research Association of Minority Professors
For a quarter-century (2000–2025), Tennessee pursued mathematics reforms aiming for equity, yet stark racial and socioeconomic achievement gaps endure. Framed by Opportunity to Learn (OTL) and Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT), this study investigates the intersection of equity, teacher capacity, and policy. By synthesizing assessment data, program evaluations, policy documents, and research literature, this study reveals that systemic OTL inequities—disparate access to quality instruction, adequate resources, and teachers possessing strong MKT—are primary drivers of these enduring gaps. Such inequities deny marginalized students a fair chance at mathematical proficiency. The interplay between OTL and MKT is critical: inadequate OTL constrains knowledgeable …

Voltage-Related Power Quality Issues And Impacts On Distribution Networks With Sensitive Loads - A Review, Godwin Elinazi Mnkeni, Jackson Justo, Aviti Thadei Mushi, Bakari M. M. Mwinyiwiwa
Tanzania Journal of Engineering and Technology (TJET)
Voltage disturbances are the most important power quality (PQ) complications that customers and power utilities face in this smart era. The growing adoption of sophisticated electronic equipment and integration of renewable energy sources (RES) into power grids has increased the susceptibility of power distribution networks (PDNs) to voltage sags, swells, interruptions, flicker, and voltage imbalance. These disturbances, mainly caused by upstream faults, switching operations, and RES integration, compromise voltage PQ and system reliability. Consequently, they accelerate equipment degradation, increase electronic waste (e-waste), raise reactive power demand and maintenance costs, increase power losses, and impose substantial economic losses on customers and …

Carbaryl (1-naphthyl methylcarbamate) is a carbamate pesticide used to cause adverse environmental and health effects when misused through water contamination. Therefore, this research aimed to develop a direct electrochemical detection method for carbaryl in aqueous media using boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. In this context, BDD electrodes exhibited superior electrochemical performance compared to conventional materials such as gold (Au), platinum (Pt), and glassy carbon electrodes (GCE) due to a wide potential window, low background current, and excellent chemical stability. Cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry reported a well-defined oxidation peak for carbaryl at 1.30 V, with significantly enhanced sensitivity. The results showed …

Radiological And Chemical Safety Assessment Of Drinking Water From Treatment Plants And Rivers In Kut City, Iraq, Ahmed A. Alswaty, Hadi D. Alattabi
Karbala International Journal of Modern Science
Climate change and increasing anthropogenic activities, particularly wastewater discharge into rivers, have raised pollution levels in the water sources of Kut City, necessitating an assessment of the radiological and chemical safety of drinking water at the city's treatment plants. Thirteen water samples were collected, comprising ten treated and three raw water samples from the source rivers. An HPGe detector was used to measure the radionuclides 214Bi, 214Pb, 212Bi, 212Pb, 40K, and 137Cs. All measured radionuclides were below the minimum detectable activity (MDA). ICP-OES analysis supported these findings, as U concentrations in most samples were …

Statistical Modeling Of Solar Flares During Solar Cycle 24 (2010–2015), Walae Dahmany '28
Annual Student Research Poster Session
Solar flares are energetic events driven by the rapid release of magnetic energy in the solar atmosphere and are an important source of space-weather disturbances. This study examined six years of solar flare activity during Solar Cycle 24 (2010–2015) using GOES X-ray observations and NOAA solar activity data. Flare frequency and intensity were analyzed alongside sunspot number, F10.7 cm radio flux, solar-cycle phase, Hale magnetic classification, previous flare activity, and waiting times between major flares. Statistical methods, including correlation and regression analyses, Cox proportional hazards modeling, and ARIMAX time-series forecasting, were used to investigate relationships between solar conditions and flare …

(Si17-07) Application Of Triple Laplace Transform To Solve Poisson Equation, Ranjana Gothankar, Bhawna Agrawal
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
The well-known Laplace equation, having an elliptical character, is popularly known as the Poisson partial differential equation. It occupies a central place in mathematical physics and engineering due to its ability to describe steady-state diffusion, electrostatics, gravitational potential, and heat conduction problems. The Poisson partial differential equation in three variables is solved by employing the triple Laplace transform in Laplace domain. In original domain, the solutions are obtained numerically using the Brancik technique. The numerous illustrative examples are presented to demonstrate the behavior and sensitivity of the solutions. This dual approach analytical simplification via the triple Laplace transform and accurate …

(Si17-06) Green-Naghdi Theory Of Two-Temperature Fractional Thermoelasticity Under Thermal Shock And Ramp-Type Heating, Sagar Sankeshwari, Vinayak Kulkarni
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
The linear thermoelasticity theory without energy dissipation developed by Green-Naghdi has been reconstructed by using two temperature theory in the context of a time fractional derivative. In half-space, the mathematical model is discussed for one-dimensional wave propagation subject to two different problems, viz., thermal shock and ramp-type heating at the bounding surface. Assume the bounding surface is traction-free. The analytical solutions are obtained in the Laplace domain. The Gaver-Stehfest technique is numerically used to perform time domain inversion of the Laplace transform, satisfying Kuznetsov’s convergence condition. The impact of fractional order parameters on the variations of various fields inside the …

In this research article, we generalized KF-iteration process in 𝑏-metric space for the generalised (𝛼,𝛽)−nonexpansive type 1 mappings. We present some convergence theorems for KF-iteration process with respect to generalised mappings in 𝑏-metric space. We discussed some numerical examples of generalised (𝛼,𝛽)-nonexpansive type 1 mappings and we proved that KF-iteration process is stronger than the other iterations. The results obtained in this research generalize and improve several related results of fixed-point convergence in the literature.

(Si17-05) Properties Of The Fermatean Fuzzy Matrix And Its Applications, Vineet Kumar, Anjana Gupta, H. C. Taneja
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
All real-world problems involve a significant amount of imprecision. To deal with the unpredictable environment, various methods and tools have been introduced. The Fermatean fuzzy matrix (FFM) is one of the important concepts for dealing with imprecision. In this paper, we explore the concept of Fermatean fuzzy matrix and introduce certain significant definitions. Some propositions and theorems of Fermatean fuzzy matrix are introduced with their proofs. The adjoint and determinant methods of Fermatean fuzzy matrices are also introduced. Finally, we have proposed a similarity measure and illustrated it via an application of Fermatean fuzzy matrix in decision-making problems.

This paper offers a calibrated synthesis of integrated modeling and optimization methods central to modern engineering and economic problems. We scrutinize the convergence of numerical methods, operations research, fuzzy-logical systems, and mathematical economics, demonstrating how these components conjointly illuminate complicated, real-world phenomena. Through an exhaustive review of prevailing frameworks, the investigation emphasizes the strategic role of stochastic modeling, queuing architecture, and optimization curricula within the twin arenas of system engineering design and economic construction. Empirical confrontation reveals that the synergistic coupling of distinct mathematical branches exponentially enhances our ability to resolve tightly-knit, largescale systems. Application re-routing is systematically demonstrated first on …

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
This manuscript examines a family of Szász-Mirakyan operators that approximate functions on the unbounded interval [0,∞). Furthermore, we examine the discretization method for Fredholm integral equations of the first and second kind based on Szász-Mirakyan operators. We offer numerical techniques and estimate the error bound of the solution in this direction. Finally, we demonstrate numerical analysis showing the effectiveness of the newly developed algorithm constructions in the domain of one-dimensional approximation.

Ranking Stocks In The S&P 500 And Nasdaq-100 Using An Entropy-Weighted Topsis Method, Hyeseong Oh '27
Annual Student Research Poster Session
This project ranks stocks in the S&P 500 and NASDAQ-100 using TOPSIS, a multi-criteria decision-making method. Instead of relying on a single financial ratio, each stock is scored on ten indicators covering valuation, profitability, cash flow, leverage, growth, efficiency, volatility, and momentum. Weights are set with the entropy method, which gives more weight to indicators that vary more across stocks, so the weights come from the data rather than personal judgment. TOPSIS then measures how close each stock is to a hypothetical best case and how far it is from a worst case. The S&P 500 is analyzed as two …

We present an algorithm for studying the sum𝐺𝑁(𝑥,𝜌)=𝑁∑𝑘=1[{𝑥+𝑘𝜌}−12],
which is closely related to the discrepancy of the irrational rotation. Computation of𝐺𝑁and associated statistics is notoriously difficult due to numerical instability and the failure of sampling to capture the discontinuities. Our algorithm instead fully defines𝐺𝑁through its discontinuities, which allows computation of𝐺𝑁(𝑥,𝜌)with errors on the order of𝑁times machine epsilon in𝑂(𝑁)time for practical𝑁. The associated probability density function can then be computed in𝑂(𝑁log𝑁)time. Presented as a tool for experimental mathematics, the algorithm enables reliable plots of the descriptive statistics of𝐺𝑁over𝑁, in particular the length of the support of the pdf (the discrepancy), revealing …

The rapid proliferation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in safety–critical and time-sensitive applications such as disaster management, battlefield reconnaissance, urban surveillance and infrastructure inspection demands online path planning strategies. A fundamental requirement in such missions is generating flight paths that pass through some pre-specified waypoints while servicing dynamically requested spatio-temporal task points arriving randomly such as capturing aerial imagery. Existing UAV path planning approaches, including A* and its variants, meta-heuristic algorithms, and dynamic programming, find the shortest distance path from source to destination, but they are predominantly offline and assume complete prior environmental knowledge, thus, incur significantly higher computational cost …

The high-resolution rotational spectrum of difluoro diiodomethane is reported for the first time. A molecular-beam broadband Fourier transform microwave spectrometer recorded the spectrum over the frequency range of 5.9–18.1 GHz. The rotational constants, centrifugal distortion constants, nuclear quadrupole coupling constants, and nuclear spin-rotation constants for the two equivalent iodine nuclei were determined from fitting 1378 hyperfine transitions of 163 rotational transitions: A = 2743.79691(18)MHz, B = 587.83103(5) MHz, C = 528.72470(5) MHz, χaa = −1213.287(6) MHz, χbb – χcc = −885.210(5) MHz, and χab = 1437.721(5) MHz. 31 dipole-forbidden/quadrupole-allowed transitions, arising from the large nuclear quadrupole coupling effect of iodine, …
First Evaluation Of Contrast-Enhanced Micro-Xct As A Tool For Organismal And Reproductive Trait Observations In Corals Based On Scans Of Thesea Nivea Deichmann, 1936, Erin E. Easton
School of Earth, Environmental, & Marine Sciences Faculty Publications
Micro-X-ray computed tomography (micro-XCT) with contrast enhancement is considered a non-destructive tool that is increasingly being applied to explore the internal and external structures of vertebrates and invertebrates. Although micro-XCT has been applied to corals to study skeletal features, contrast enhancement has not been applied to evaluate the utility for visualization of soft tissue structures in corals. This study is the first to evaluate the utility of contrast enhancement to visualize internal and external features, including soft tissue features, of octocorals. Contrast staining of a Thesea nivea specimen with 2.5% Lugol's iodine permitted visualization of soft tissues with sufficient density …

Chemnetworks: New Capabilities For High-Throughput, Real-Time Chemical Graph Construction And Analysis, Daniel J. Pope, Jackson Elowitt, Bo Zhang, Manish Parashar, Aurora E. Clark
Michigan Tech Publications
A major revision of the ChemNetworks software (originally published in the Journal of Computational Chemistry, 2014, 35, 495–505) is presented. While the original ChemNetworks provided foundational graph construction capabilities for chemical systems, it was limited to simple distance and 3-body angular edge criteria, was not designed for high-performance computing environments or real-time operation alongside running simulations. This release addresses these limitations through three core contributions. First, a recursive Z-matrix-based search algorithm is introduced that enables chemically intuitive, arbitrarily descriptive three-dimensional structure searches, supporting geometric, energetic, and logical criteria. Second, the DataSpaces data staging framework is incorporated as an optional I/O …

Tellurium has a unique helical crystal arrangement and pronounced anisotropy that influence its electronic and optical properties at the nanoscale. This study reports the synthesis of pure tellurium quantum dots (Te QDs) on silicon wafer using glancing angle deposition (GLAD). Quasi-hemispherical dots with lateral sizes ranging from 9 to 28 nm and vertical dimensions of 6 to 10 nm were produced as a function of the deposition duration. A comparison of the dot sizes with the Bohr radii of the charge carriers indicated a regime of strong to intermediate confinement. Structural analyses confirmed the polycrystalline nature and trigonal phase of …

Beyond The Poster Session: Turning A Scientific Poster Into A Publishable Manuscript, Scott R. Beason
The Compass: Earth Science Journal of Sigma Gamma Epsilon
Scientific posters are often treated as the final product of an undergraduate research project. After months of fieldwork, laboratory analysis, data processing, and interpretation, a student prepares a poster, presents the work at a departmental symposium or professional meeting, rolls up the poster, and moves on to the next stage of their career. The research, however, does not necessarily need to end with the poster session. A well-developed scientific poster already contains many of the fundamental elements of a scientific manuscript: a research question, scientific context, methods, results, figures, interpretation, discussion, and conclusions. Converting a poster into a manuscript therefore …

We report a dual-modal fiber-optic probe that integrates electrochemical quantification of hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) with co-localized fluorescent pH sensing for pH-indexed interpretation of the H₂O₂ response. H₂O₂ is a reactive oxygen species involved in oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular signaling, and local pH modulates both its production and electrochemical response. Many electrochemical H₂O₂ sensors exhibit pH-dependent sensitivity, creating ambiguity unless pH is measured and used for compensation, which is difficult in small, heterogeneous, or rapidly changing microenvironments. A three-electrode configuration—working (WE), counter (CE), and Ag/AgCl pseudo-reference (pRE) electrodes—is fabricated directly on the cylindrical surface of a 710-µm-diameter optical fiber using …

As autonomous driving systems (ADS) are increasingly deployed in real-world environments, discovering diverse unsafe driving scenarios remains a fundamental yet difficult problem. Existing scenario generation and testing approaches often rely on black-box exploration or externally-observed heuristic feedback, which struggle to effectively guide the search toward high-risk scenarios induced by complex decision-making behaviors. A key difficulty stems from the fact that unsafe behaviors in ADS often arise from internal decision-making logic, which can induce structured and discontinuous responses that are hard to effectively explore using purely black-box guidance. Consequently, current tools tend to repeatedly discover a narrow set of similar unsafe …

Educators are increasingly adopting large language models such as ChatGPT to generate multiple-choice questions (MCQs), yet empirical evidence on the quality of these items in computing education assessments remains limited. This study compares 30 ChatGPT-generated and 30 manually crafted items from an undergraduate software design course, and evaluates item difficulty, discrimination, and distractor quality using Classical Test Theory. We triangulated two evaluations using within-subjects and between-subjects designs. Our quantitative findings show that all three metrics in both evaluations point in the same direction. ChatGPT-generated items are easier, less discriminating, and exhibit poorer distractor quality than manually crafted items. Distractor quality …

Service Robots With Low Anthropomorphism In Restaurants: Consumer Reactions And Implications, Ferhat Eren, Volkan Genc
Journal of Global Hospitality and Tourism
This study investigates consumer responses to low-anthropomorphic service robots in restaurant front of-house roles using the AIDUA (Artificially Intelligent Device Use Acceptance). Data from 1,268 participants were analysed using PLS-SEM. The results revealed that social impact and anthropomorphism significantly influenced both performance and effort expectancy, while hedonic motivation influenced only performance expectancy. Performance expectancy strongly influenced emotions, which in turn significantly influenced both the willingness to use service robots and objections to their use. However, effort expectancy did not significantly influence emotions. The findings validate the AIDUA model in this context and offer practical insights for robot design and implementation.

At SMU Libraries, after a year of experimentation, user testing, and preparation, we have just launched an AI-assisted chatbot to handle Tier 1 questions – will the library be open this weekend, where can I find printers, what workshops does the library offer, etc. While this can be thought of as a technology-forward project, we hope to illustrate how the human elements were essential to elevate the project. Throughout this journey, while learning the ins and outs of new technologies, we placed more emphasis on user-centred service design and we will show how other libraries can do so as well. …
