Machine Learning Based Bioinformatics Analysis Of Intron Usage Alterations And Metabolic Regulation In Adipose Browning, Hamza Umut Karakurt, Pinar Pi̇r

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Adipose tissue is the major energy depot of the body and is considered an endocrine organ. Adipose tissue involves many different cell types, first and foremost, the adipocytes. White adipose cells that store fat and brown adipocytes that take part in lipid oxidation and heat generation are the most common cell types in adipose tissue. Even though brown adipocytes which have a high number of mitochondria and high fat-burning capacity are rare in adults, they are abundant in newborns and rodents. White adipocytes can gain a temporal brown-like character with a process called browning, which can be induced with cold …

Prediction Of Body Fat Percentage Based On Anthropometric Measurements Using Data Mining Approach, Hamsa Amro, Prof. Mohammed Awad Dec 2021

Prediction Of Body Fat Percentage Based On Anthropometric Measurements Using Data Mining Approach, Hamsa Amro, Prof. Mohammed Awad

Journal of the Arab American University مجلة الجامعة العربية الامريكية للبحوث

In recent years, heart disease, diabetes, and some types of cancers have been reported as some main causes of death in most countries of the world, and obesity, which is often attributed to excess body fat, is one of the most common risk factors for these diseases. To make the vast amounts of data produced by health care information systems useful to the potential, the researchers applied knowledge discovery through predictive modeling. This study used anthropometric measurements as input data to different data mining techniques to predict body fat percentage. Fisher’s Method of Scoring was used to select the most …

Dental caries is an infectious disease that Dental is characterized by the dental damage resulting from microorganism products in carbohydrate fermentation. Dental caries and obesity in children are multifactorial diseases associated with eating habits and certain lifestyle factors. This study aimed to assess the association between overweightness, obesity, and dental caries among children aged 7–12 years in Badung district, Bali province in 2018. The total sample of 426 children and their mothers were recruited from all first to fifth elementary grade students in three schools selected by simple random sampling. The logistic regression analysis has demonstrated a significant association between …
