Digital transformation in dental and oral teaching hospitals demands strategies that not only ensure clinical quality but also sustain patient loyalty. This study examines the effects of digital storytelling and service quality on outpatient revisit intention at the Dental and Oral Hospital of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (RSGMP Unsoed), with brand image and patient satisfaction as mediating variables. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied to 115 outpatients aged ≥18 years who had completed one full episode of dental treatment. Patient satisfaction is an important indicator for assessing the quality and performance of hospital services as it reflects patients’ experiences through the healthcare delivery process; this study explore how patient satisfaction toward hospital services in public and private hospitals by analyzing 23 selected scientific articles published between 2015 and 2024 and gathered from ProQuest, Scopus, PubMed, and ScienceDirect databases from an initial total of 176 articles founded based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the findings indicate that service quality has a significant impact toward patient satisfaction in both types of hospitals, with private hospitals generally demonstrating higher satisfaction levels …

Electronic Medical Records (EMR) adoption aims to improve documentation efficiency and nurses’ performance; however, system instability and limited continuous training remain obstacles. This study examined the effects of EMR features and functionality, technical support and training, and users’ perceptions and attitudes on nurses’ performance at Grha Permata Ibu Hospital. This study employed an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach, using a quantitative survey conducted among 74 inpatient nurses through a Likert-scale questionnaire. As a regional referral hospital, Bekasi Regency General Hospital faces substantial challenges related to high resistance rates, with multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs) showing MRSA at 22.22% and ESBL at 40% in 2024. This study analyzes doctors' perceptions of nurses' competencies at Siti Aisyah Regional Hospital in Lubuklinggau across three domains: communication, professionalism, and team collaboration. Doctors' perceptions are important for supporting interprofessional collaboration, quality of patient care, and patient outcomes. The study results are expected to identify competency gaps and provide an evidence-based foundation for developing measurable and effective nurse training programs. The study used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach, with a sample of 24 doctors who evaluated nurses' overall competencies in their work units. In his 2024 book, Jonathan Birch builds a precautionary framework for the borderlines of sentience, one that is meant to guide both theoretical reflection and practical action. One of the book’s great merits is its bottom-up approach, which presents itself as theoretically neutral regarding the (neuro-)physiological criteria required for sentience. Yet the singular place granted to midbrain-centric views (e.g., Merker, 2007; Panksepp, 2011; Solms, 2021) and to what Birch calls the “brainstem rule” (Chapter 11) raises questions. What justifies granting it such a central role? What are its practical and theoretical consequences?

Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) are a preventable complication associated with indwelling urinary catheters. Although Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) has an existing nurse-driven Foley catheter removal policy, opportunities remain to improve nurses’ adherence to the policy and promote timely catheter removal. This evidence-based practice project focuses on improving adherence to existing Policy IC-027 through education and implementation of the HOUDINI criteria, which help nurses identify patients who no longer require an indwelling urinary catheter. The project aims to increase nurses’ awareness of the current policy, encourage consistent daily catheter necessity assessments, and support timely catheter removal when appropriate. The …

This evidence-based practice project examined the relationship between nurse-to-patient ratios and patient satisfaction. A review of current literature, guided by Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring and the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) quality improvement framework, found that lower nurse-to-patient ratios are associated with improved communication, higher patient satisfaction, better patient outcomes, and increased patient safety. Based on these findings, recommendations and a Safe Nurse-to-Patient Staffing Policy were proposed to support acuity-based staffing, enhance quality of care, and improve both patient and nursing outcomes.

Implementation Of A Standardized, Multimodal Safe Sleep Education Policy For Newborns, Emma C. Cook, Anisa E. Toliver

This evidence-based practice project proposes updating a regional hospital’s infant sleep policy to include standardized, multimodal safe sleep education. The goal is to improve adherence to safe sleep practices and reduce the risk of sleep-related infant death using interventions such as multiple forms of standardized parent education, consistent staff modeling of safe sleep practices, environmental modifications, and routine bassinet audits. This project uses Dorothea Orem’s Self-Care Deficit Nursing Theory to strengthen parental understanding and promote safe sleep environments during hospitalization and at home.

Developing An Emergency Department-Specific C. Difficile Infection-Prevention Policy, Katelyn M. Wuest, Chris Bray

Our evidence-based practice project focuses on the need for an Emergency Department (ED)- specific Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) infection-prevention policy that adapts the existing facility-wide guidelines to the unique workflow and environment of the ED. Using infection-prevention literature and environmental disinfection recommendations as a foundation, the project proposes the need for clearer guidance regarding applying precautions, managing shared equipment, and maintaining environmental cleanliness. Implementation and evaluation using a Plan-Do-Study-Act approach can help assess staff adherence and identify opportunities to improve consistency in infection-prevention practices.

This evidence-based practice project examines how fall-risk assessment can be improved for patients in inpatient rehabilitation by incorporating rehabilitation-specific functional factors into the existing assessment process. A review of four research studies identified toileting, transfers, ambulation, cognition, previous falls, and functional limitations as important considerations for fall-risk identification. The project proposes a structured functional review to supplement current assessment tools, with a phased implementation plan using staff education, a pilot program, and ongoing evaluation to support patient safety and individualized fall-prevention interventions.

Background: Low-dose radiation therapy (LDRT) for symptomatic osteoarthritis (OA) can add to the workload of radiation oncology services, particularly in small centers with limited capacity and staff. After we launched an OA LDRT program in December 2024, referrals grew rapidly at our rural, single-linac radiation oncology practice at UT MD Anderson’s Cancer Network Partner site (Community Health Network in Indianapolis, IN), leading to long wait times and workflow strain.

Background: Athletic performance is a psychologically complex process, with “flow” recognized as central to optimal performance. However, its emergence is often treated as automatic and lacks sufficient explanation through broader psychological mechanisms. Objective: This study synthesizes recent literature on flow in sport performance, emphasizing psychological mechanisms, situational determinants, and conceptual gaps. Methods: A systematic review was conducted following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Neurodegenerative disease is marked not just by loss of proteins or cells, but by dynamic rewiring of macromolecular interaction networks that precede and drive pathology. Here, we present a temporally resolved, systems-scale map of multi-protein complex remodeling in a tauopathy model, integrating co-fractionation mass spectrometry, quantitative phosphoproteomics, and machine learning to decode phosphorylation-dependent shifts in protein interactomes across disease progression. This interactomic atlas serves as a resource to investigate functional assemblies, including MAPT-Dpysl2 and Cyfip1-actin, as well as ptk2b-Kars/Dars and ptk2b-Msn-Farsb-complexes, that modulate early disease phenotypes in vivo. Background: Military readiness depends on timely access to accurate health screening tools. The use of digital technologies for visual acuity testing may reduce bottlenecks during large-scale Physical Health Assessment (PHA) events and improve the efficiency of provider workflow. This study evaluated a computer-based vision screening (CBVS) platform against the traditional Snellen chart in a non-military, college-aged sample to assess clinical comparability and test-retest reliability.

The timing of biological events for wildlife species reflects and influences ecological and evolutionary processes and helps guide management actions to meet conservation objectives. Climate change may cause phenological shifts across trophic levels and ecosystems, which can have broad ecological impacts. Shifts may also result in mistiming between management practices based on historical conditions and current biological events, reducing the effectiveness of natural resource management and conservation efforts. We analyzed nesting phenology patterns over recent decades across North America for 44 species of grassland-nesting birds, including waterfowl, upland gamebirds, shorebirds, and passerines, many of which have experienced precipitous population declines. …

Through previous research, attention has been drawn to the burden experienced by next of kin to someone struggling with self-harm, yet less attention has been given to how they experience and make sense of the relational and existential complexity of this role in their everyday lives. We asked how next of kin experienced and made sense of caring for a loved one who self-harmed. We conducted in-depth interviews with fourteen next of kin, including parents, partners, and siblings, and analyzed the data through reflexive thematic analysis within an interpretive qualitative framework. In this study, we analyze how beginning teachers in Chile construct meanings around resilience during their first year of professional induction, within a context of intensified teachers’ work and limited institutional support. Drawing on a socioecological perspective and Critical Discursive Psychology, we developed a qualitative design focused on interpretative repertoires. Ten beginning teachers from various subject areas, educational levels, and regions participated, with each being interviewed at two time points, six months apart. Through an abductive analysis, we identified three affective–discursive repertoires. Adolescent mental health and cardiometabolic concerns are at an all-time high, necessitating the development of acceptable, feasible, and effective interventions. Investigations of behavioral health interventions with teenagers must incorporate a means of understanding how adolescents perceive and engage with an intervention, and the relevance and meaning they ascribe to its therapeutic goals, as these potentially modifiable factors may ultimately influence future uptake, sustainability, and effectiveness of the interventions.
