Correlation Between Mendelian Rescessive Traits And The Resistance To Fibrosarcoma In Mice, Frank Louis Gruskay
Correlation Between Mendelian Rescessive Traits And The Resistance To Fibrosarcoma In Mice, Frank Louis Gruskay
Yale Medicine Thesis Digital Library
[From the Summary] 1. A correlation between tumor resistance, as measured by the latency period and the percentage of animals acquiring tumors, and the number of recessive genes in the genotypic makeup has been investigated with methylcholanthrene-induced tumors in mice. 2. Evidence is presented which points to the fact that recessive genes impart more resistance than dominant ones. In addition, the relationship seems to be an additive phenomenon, i.e., the more recessive genes in the makeup of the animal, the greater the resistance. 3. The results of this study are discussed in light of the findings of various other investigators, …

A Study of the Effect of Avoidance on Stuttering Frequency in an Adaptation Situation
I Introduction
Much of the recent research related to stuttering has been concerned with the adaptation effect. The adaptation effect in stuttering refers to the phenomenon in which the frequency of stutterer continues to read the same passage aloud a number of times. During these readings each successive passage evidences fewer stutterings until a plateau is attained.
Much of the literature has ascribed great importance to avoidance mechanisms as maintaining causal factors. These avoidance mechanisms may be generally classified in two categories which are word avoidance …

Along with other scientists, he studied the biological and medical effects of ionized radiation on the survivors of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings. In January of 1986, Dr. Moloney donated his journal, correspondence and diary pages to the Harris County Medical Archive, whose collections were later incorporated into the Texas Medical Center Library. Dr. Moloney's journal is in relatively good shape containing a mix of handwritten notes and comments, news-clippings, photos, and ephemera. The journal is an …

It is felt that if personality traits can be measured by a standard device they will correlate with various types of behavior expressed during labor. The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory is one instrument which tests all of the more important phases of personality. This test was chosen as the device to be used in this study to determine the personality traits of the women involved. Therefore, the purpose of this study …
